I stated this in another thread in the baseball forum. Just look at his HR number when he admitted to being off roids and the how much weight he lost. Then about July/Aug of last year he hits 10 HR in a month and has been his old self. I mean his HR production is at a better pace than when he was on roids in 2001-2003!!. He is on pace for 45 this season which would be a career high. Now did he learn how to hit the ball farther and harder without drugs?

steroids or hgh, is more of a mental problem.. the guys cannot stand to lose the strength, when they come off of them.. so the off time becomes less and less, until it just disappears..
to safely use steroids, you must cycle them, in an 8 week cycle preferably..
1/2 cc week 1
1 cc week 2
1.5 cc week 3
2 cc week 4
2 cc week 5
1.5 cc week 6
1 cc week 7
1/2 cc week 8
then off completely for 8 weeks...
taken in this manner, one can enjoy the benefits of them, without most of the dangers.. trouble comes in the 8 weeks off... when the weights being lifted in the weight room drop and the arms and chest deflate some..

no never touched them, but have been a gym rat for over 20 yrs now...
got my bench back up to 250 lbs for 10 reps now.. weighing 225..
not great but respectable..

its not the use of steroids but the abuse of steroids that cause the trouble..
doctors will give them for many reasons: surgeries, burn victims, --- basically anyone needing to rebuild themselves after an ailment of some kind..
its the continuous nonstop use of them, thats the danger.. the liver and kidneys will get damaged.. i had a close friend, lose a testicle due to the misuse of steroids...

Let me tell you the reason, that i never took them...
i was always able to put on mass and gain strength rather easily...
if i had taken roids but not controlled "how and what i ate".. i would have weighed 300 lbs...
i have never competed in bodybuilding, although i may do a "masters event" or natural event someday..
so i just stayed away...
