The latest on comped rooms at The Rx. Bash.. The Imperial Palace is officially sold out for Friday August 18th. so I cannot arrange any new rooms for that night for anyone who hasn't already made their reservations. I managed with the help of Denise Gemma to get comp rooms for the three posters who contacted me (including Bulldog) so they are all set. As of right now I don't know of anyone who is coming that does not have a room.

I will still try to help any Rxer who wants a room for Saturday night only.

wilheim@therx.com

Thanks very much, wil..

PS. I will be posting the official intenarary of events early next week..

Alert!

I just cancelled my reservation expecting that the room would be available for an RX member. However, I was told afterwards that this is not the case. I was told the RX block of rooms was held for reservation through a certain date and that the room I cancelled immediately went on the open market and was gone immediately and not being held for RX members. In fact, I was told August 18th is completely sold out but August 19th is available at $129 per night and August 20th is $69 per night. I spoke with Denise directly.

Wow, WTF...that is messed up. IP needs to get their shit together, that's not good policy as far as I'm concerned.

Just heard that another poster, who just found out he would be able to attend the Bash, is not going to because he can't get a free room.

Maybe the RX can spring for a few more to accomodate the posters who didn't know about the reservation deadline? It's an annual thing...and would definitely go a long way as far as establishing an even better relationship with its posters(already solid).

Obviously none of us knows the specifics of the arrangement with the IP and if that is even possible...but if it is, how great would that be?

Denise informed me that the RX originally reserved a block of 125 rooms with the impression that would be sufficient perhaps based on past history. I do not have first hand knowledge of how it reached 140, but it appears the Imperial Palace did try to assist with additional rooms but perhaps under certain conditions. I have no doubt the RX is doing everything it can but at this late date and with rooms already being shown sold out for Friday night, further arrangements may be difficult. Hope for the best.

Ballys would be a real cheap option for any RXer.

Way less than $60 a night and they give you around $20-25 food comps per night when you check in

Thanks for the update...I hope the RX will keep us updated as to their progress or any resolution in this situation. Thanks OMT, I will certainly hope for the sake of the left-out posters.

Old man ted i think if you would of just changed the name on your reservation to a poster who needed it, that might have worked better. You may need a credit card number for that poster unless you were gonna be there at the time of checkin.

No way are they that cheap; on Fri. and Sat. you'll pay at least double that price.

I've been serching for airfare, and now one of my best friends and his family are coming out from LA for two weeks at that time. We will be in Chicago for a good portion of the two weeks. Its about 20/80 that I go. How do you like Chicago? I will probably go Saturday night for the heck of it/.

Here's the deal and I hope I don't get in trouble for saying too much.

Originally, the Rx and IP agreed to reserve 125 rooms for the group.
Someone in reservations took it upon themselves to up that number without asking myself, Denise, or the Rx.

Once those rooms sold out, that was it. No more free rooms. Many of you had ample time, but if you waited until they sold out were out of luck.

I will go out of my way to get someone a room if they want one. However, I cannot comp rooms, Denise cannot comp rooms, and the Rx cannot comp any more rooms. If you have a player's card or a race and sports book card, I can certainly get you a casino rate.

If you have no record of play at the IP, you can get a regular rate and we can deduct any comps you have coming to you on the basis of your play.

Keep in mind, this is a business for all parties the IP, it's parent company Harrah's, and the Rx. I'm sure myself and the Rx like every one of you, but that does not mean we will give you something for nothing.

If anyone needs accommodations and is still getting the run-around, please contact me directly at poker@imperialpalace.com. Leave a number to get a hold of you, and I will see what I can do as far as getting you the cheapest rate available. All of the free rooms are gone, but if you procrastinated we still want you to come at the best price for you.

Best wishes and looking forward to seeing everyone,
GD

funny that u mention it, im heading down to south bend for the weekend, have to move out of my house and into an apt..bullshit...
chicago's a good time man, expensive but good, in a great spot up here as well for the summer.

I got my tix thru Allegiant Air, not an awful deal especially considering they fly direct from south bend...

Only problem is that I have to be back Sunday and not Monday. I'll shoot you an email this weekend.
