non-gambling sports fans, or sports fans that wager very small? I do.
With football season coming up I am getting these visions of what annoys me year in and year out. You are at the bar, and some guy has his $5, 6-team parlay card sitting out on the bar, cheering like a madman. It is the worst when one of his picks counters one of yours that you have large. Last year I remember I had Philly LARGE, I think it was against the Chargers. That game where Philly blocked the field goal and ran it back for a TD to get the win and cover. The whole game this turd is openly rooting against Philly, and it was starting to irritate me. I asked him if he was from Cali, or a Chargers fan, and he said "no, I got them on my parlay card." I asked him how much he put down. $5. I offered him $20 to just STFU, but he didn't take it. LOL. Needless to say I had the last laugh that day.

Seriously, it irritates me to no end when these people won't shut up about their parlays or their $20 bets they have down with a local. "Man, you got 4 points...my guy only gave me 3.5." All over a $10 bet.

I'm not saying I lay down HUGE bets, but come on man. If I have $500 on the game and you have 10 bucks on the other side, and you're rooting against me, I will be irritated to no end.

Yes, a little but my biggest pet peave is fantasy people. Do not get me wrong i love and play fantasy but come on....I do not want to hear whining about a 100 fantasy league when I bet more than that on 500 different games in a season. Also REAL fantasy people do not have the balls to bet like us gamblers do. They just talk fantasy all day in their 3 leagues. Those guys do not bet for the most part and if they did they would not be whiining about a RB not getting enough carries. Yippee.

Its kinda like on the Craps table, if I have $50 on the Dont Pass, I better not make an issue when that 7 hits and people have hundreds of dollars on the Pass line. You can beat down doing that.

Nah, it's not the amount wagered... it's listening to people get worked up about very small wagers, or rooting ridiculously hard for their team on which they have $10.

I know exactly what you are talking about. . shit pisses me off.

Even more annoying is when people are talking about sports betting and they just have no fucking clue what I are talking about. Not saying I know anything or even 30% of what there is to be known, but it is still irritating .

So we should all route for who has the most money on a team? This thread is rediculous. Your $500 bet has nothing to do with the guy's $20 parlay. He wants to win and you want to win. He has every right to cheer as loud as you. Don't be so selfish. Like the guy should care that you win your bet. Sheesh

Yes, it is selfish. And no, I don't expect or request anyone not root for their team. It just irritates me, that's all.

The WORST is when someone asks you (sometimes even a friend who is ignorant to sports betting), "how could you bet on Team X," when they are down by 3 touchdowns. STFU Einstein!!! Hindsight is 20/20!!!

And most of the time the guy will rub it in your face when he is winning or wins. If I have the Packers (for example) for $500 and he has the Vikings in a $5 parlay, and Favre throws an INT, this hypothetical guy will look at me, clap, talk shit. And when he wins he will rejoice how he was soooo right and you were soooo wrong.

If I win in this situation I say nothing. Honestly I don't.

Harry carey...sounds like you are the ass, these guys are just having fun. You're nickel wager doesn't make you cool it just makes you think you're a bigtimer compared to them. If you hate it so much why not just quit going to bars where these people hang out, and watch your games from home? My dad bets $5 a game and loves it. It's all about enjoying the game and the added excitement of having a little action on it for them. Nothing wrong with that at all, and most would be better off doing this.
