ABC News reported this today. BOS was told to give the customers their money back...so they continue to jerk their customers around.

"....Still, the federal judge in the BetOnSports case sent gamblers a clear message regarding how her court feels about users of the sites. A restraining order filed in the case told the company to post this message on all its Web sites accessible in the United States.: "It is a violation of United States law to transmit sports wagers or betting information to this Web site from the United States. If you have a wagering account with the operators of this Web site, please call (toll free number) to arrange a refund."

BetOnSports has since shut down its Web sites, though the message promising the refund has yet to appear...."

Uhhh, BOS- so how about it? Give customers instructions on how to call and get their money back.

anyone that thinks the reason BoS stopped all financial activity with players is because of this US court ruling is a fool

US court asked for a msg to be placed on the website that was very specific with the wording...BoS has NOT done this.

US courts asked for BoS to run full page ads in USA Today with very specific wording...BoS has NOT done this

US courts asked for BoS to set up 800 #'s to allow players to get their $$$$... BoS has not done this

I wonder how player deposits were listed on the company perspectus?

In addition to what Buddyboy said the US has no authority to make BoS do anything.

Well they can't piece-meal it S.B. They're either trying to cooperate with the DOJ or they're not. But it obviously appears that they're using "pieces" of the court order that fit their needs and justifies their current actions, or lack of them.

Exactly. I am glad you see it. The lack of action is distressing for the player but piece mealing is done in all cases in all industries. Its unfortunate for the guys with money in there but they will spring foward when all the ducks are put in a row for them.

What BOS could have done or maybe should have done?????

First there is no way they could have complied with DOJ. They would be out of business. And would have no money left to fight these charges in court. Which anyone with have a brain knows needs to happen.

I feel very bad for the people who had money there. I know it is very bad for all of you. But if I was in your situation this is what I would do. I would call BOS or Mill once everyday to see if they know of any change in this situation. Then I would call the DOJ 10 times and tell them how can they think they can go around saying what BOS is doing is in viotation of USA laws. Explain to them that the WTO has already told the USA that they are out of line.

Now if I were in charge of BOS I would receive a call from a customer and tell them we have sold your account to another sportbook you can continue to bet there or withdrawal 5% of your account each month.

My two cents worth.

Please give me your thoughts.

They either refund money and go out of business or they do what they are doing. To give back money and still harbor hopes of returning to business after some court actions just isn't going to happen.

There are some theories out there on what they are doing, some good for players and some bad. Of course anyone with balances there don't give two shits if they are still in business and that is causing problems.

BOS is obviously choosing to reopen at some point based on these actions. With the betting calendar as it is right now they probably don't mind being closed too much, only losing out on WSOP driven poker action. Let's face it, there are probably plenty of people with accounts who don't really follow the news and don't read sites like this. It will be September and BOS may reopen and these bettors may have no clue what happened! That is just the nature of the BOS clientele.

Thats the truth and its really scary. I encounter people all the time who have no clue. They heard about it but thats about it. No clue of the ramifications at all.

My two cents.
BoS is waiting for the outcome of 8/1 hearing before doing anything.

Im sure David wants to be able to payback customers. I will look a whole lot better to a judge and jury if it comes to that.
Give it some time to unfold. jmo
