4* New York Yankees -1.5 -120

I'm aware this is a square pick. I'm aware the Yankees have had their problems in the past with the D-Rays. But there are just too many comforting things in this play tonight, a game I usually lay off.

The Yankees are playing some good baseball right now. They are finding ways to win. They are getting that Yankee swagger back. And I like Derek Jeter's quote in today's game writeup:

"It's still too early to sit around and worry about who is in the playoffs now," said shortstop Derek Jeter, who singled to lead off the ninth before Giambi followed with his team-high 29th homer. "You don't set your sights on the wild card. That's something that you fall back on, so we still have some work to be done. We're trying to catch Boston."

That is a winning mentality. People respect what comes out of this guys mouth. I think they will adopt this attitude.

Anyway...short short version.

1) Yankees playing good baseball. Won 3 straight.
2) Yankees better starting pitching matchup...much better.
3) Yankees at home on Friday Night in the thick of the playoff race, I dont expect a let down here. Yankees have been revenging their losses from last season vs. the DRays. They wont fall for this trap game.
4) Yankees have dominated D-Rays this season. Undefeated, and have crushed them.
5) A-Rod may be breaking out of his mental slump. Homered.
6) Jeter has this team ready to go. Yankee swagger is coming back.
7) D-Rays were expecting Kasmir to start tonight. He's a no go. That is disappointing for them before the game even starts.

Good Luck
