As much griping as he did in the offseason (rightfully so) that Baltimore wasn't getting the players to help him.... and at one point demanding a trade.

You would think Miguel Tejada would be waiting anxiously to board the first flight to playoffville, wherever that is , and anywhere but Baltimore.

Instead Tejada has stated he wants to stay put....he will never get to the playoffs in a Baltimore uniform.

Journey

I can't imagine Mora's new contract swayed him that much? He really wanted out bad (or so it seemed).

All of a sudden, he's bouncing around like he's having fun again.

Must be that new shipment of 'B-12' Fedexed from the Palmiero address.

Stoli- I really can't see any good reason for Miguel to stay unless it's the friendships he's made...He does not live in Maryland in the offseason....

What could it be?

The nice weather with low humidity ?

Maybe the safety of the west side of the city near Edmonson Village??

Who knows?

LOL, triple digits the next couple days..gotta love it.... not.

I doubt the Orioles will deal him because they won't get enough back this time of year....the other thing I don't understand is why the Nationals are looking like they will let Soriano go without attempting to sign him...he did state he wanted to stay in Washington.

if this is true? not sure how baltimore wouldn't drive Tejada to the airport personally:

"The Orioles and Astros are discussing a Miguel Tejada deal that includes Roy Oswalt, according to the Baltimore Sun.

Morgan Ensberg and Adam Everett would also go to Baltimore. We don't see how this would make Houston better. Tejada is a huge offensive upgrade, but that doesn't make up for the loss of Oswalt and the defensive downgrade. The Orioles may not be especially interested anyway, since they'd likely only have Oswalt through 2007. They could make the trade and then deal Oswalt for younger talent, but the various factions in Baltimore take forever just to agree to one move. Pulling off two simultaneously would be pretty much impossible.

jman - i think the nationals are starting to consider re-signing soriano as a serious possibility. The new owners have loads of cash.

I think the teams that are bidding on him are not parting with top prospects the nationals want. From Washington's perspective, instead of trading soriano for anything less than a top-tier prospect, they might as well try to re-sign him and lock him up.
Their worst case situation is he walks at the end of the season and get two compensatory picks, one in the first round, one in between the 1st and 2nd.

Well it's hard to really know, it's mainly just rumors...If the Nats want to keep the guy you would think they would say something...he's already a bit of a whiner, keep him happy....My gut says he will be dealt, I hope not though....I doubt he remains in D.C. either way, it just doesn't seem like they want him, in fact no one seems to want him for the long term.

What really surprised me was Soriano coming out at midseason and saying he wants to stay, there had to be a strategic reason for him to announce that at that point.

WTF would Houston care if they flipped him to Texas? It's not like they're a division rival.
