Let's take a poll...what's your net worth and age excluding equity in your home/cars/personal belongings???? Just include retirement and other liquid investments.

this is possibly the stupidest 'poll' I have seen so far at the Rx. Unless you are flat broke, why on earth would you divulge this information over the internet? Only ones that will respond are either braggarts or liars.

p.s. Don't expect any honest answers from a bunch of online gamblers.

For that matter, don't expect many responses period-it's just not smart.

why would you exclude home equity? HE has real value and in most cases easily liquidated

There's always next year, like in 75, 90-93, 99 &

Dr. WVU,
That was a fantastic croquette game this afternoon. I fancy we should play again some time. Perhaps triscuits and tea afterwards would make a suitable course for discussing our many degrees and great wealth?

Newly PHD'ed people will bring the average down. My girlfriend just got hers and she beats my negative worth by $20k. :103631605

There are also millions of people who have made hundreds upon hundreds of thousands of dollars just by sitting on real estate for 5-10 years in the right market at the right time.

(I'm not one of them)

Americans fall generally in two camps. Net worth well into 6 figures (including home equity, which has to be counted) or damn near zero or below it. An average or even a person's net worth are totally irrelevant. Either you live in a way that has put you in or on the road to joining the 6 figures crowd or you are forever going to be stuck near zero. It does amaze me though talking to people at work how pathetic most people I should call my peers are at saving and spending. I would say at least half are pretty much paycheck to paycheck people. I could leave my job and be fine for years, these people would be without insurance and taking out a home equity loan within 2 months. And it is so simple, you just have to value savings and the security it brings and chances are very good you can get on the path to a comfortable net worth.

Jman, go load one of your vending machines, and try not to trip over yourself looking at your reflection in the window.

Don't ask a question on what you look like, cause Jman will be the first to post a pic. Well, he use to be, until, well......do a search.
