Prior winless since coming off the DL with an 0-4 record, and a 6.60 ERA, and pitching for arguabley the worst offense in the ML...last game he threw a no hitter through 5, and combined no hitter thorugh 7 with his relievers, and they still managed to lose 1-0..tommorow we have the NL's top Cy Young contender, whose 11-4 with a 2.83 ERA coming off a win after being down 5-1 to the Rockt...and yet the line is only -120 for the D-Backs...this line really is telling me that Vegas thinks Prior gets his first win of the year tommorow, and with they way he pitched last game, I think they very well may be right....AZ is very much in the NL West division race, and not to mention Webb is 3-0 lifetime vs the Cubs, with a 1.88 ERA...and this was against the more potent cubs teams with the likes of Lee and Sosa and Ramirez all playing at their prime...Lee is back now, and Prior is as well, showing glimpses of the dominance he had for th last few years when he wasnt on the DL...Ramirez had a multi-HR game earlier this week, and Prior like I said is coming off his best start of the year, where he didnt even allow a hit in 5 solid innings...ive bet Prior a few times this year and been burned, but alos have made some good $ on Webb...but seriously guys, one of the hottest pitchers in the league in Webb, who has owned the team hes facing over hs career and this time pitching against arguabley the worst Cubs offense since the pre-Sosay days...im really thinking of dropping a couple units on this one, especially since Prior showed last game he still has the stuff to domnate even the best of teams, and the line to me should be AT LEAST Arizona -145...the line alone, I believe, makes me really get the feeling that Vegas wants money pouring in on Webb...the Cubs offense may be crap. But they, like Prior, have shown signs of being able to get it going again, especialy after sweeping the best team in the NL the last 3 years in the Cards...After doing some research, I also came to the conclusion that people are very wary that the Cubs swept the Cards, but with Prior on the mound and hungry for a win, does anyone else see value in the cubbies tommorow, ESPECIALLY since the line is far lower than it should be IMO????

See ALOT of value in the Angels tommorow as well...Santana, 2nd edition, on the mound, and only 1.5 games back to the A's. and coming off a huge win over Schilling who had been 9-0 at home this year, and 5-0 against the AL West during the year ... Angels @ home, good price, and huge 2 game swing if they lose, while they would be 1/2 game out if they win...NOT TO MENTION Edwin Santana is 1-0 vs his upstate rivals this year with a 1.29 ERA in 7 innings, and 4-0 lifetime with a just as impressive 1.54 ERA in 35 innings...realy like Cubbies and Angels tomm...both teams are HOT, Cubs being the hotter of the both obviously @ home with their long time regarded Ace (who has lost the title to the more durable and tough Zambrano, with no disrespect to Prior, but an Ace is not only a pitcher wholse lights out, but a pitcher who is lights out and TOUGH...Prior is tough, but he is babysitted to much by the Cubs organization and given special priveleges for extended stays on the DL to make sure hes PERFECTLY ok...and IMO that just takes him out of his elemnt and makes him have to go through the motions of pitching in the big leagues again...but hes gone through those motions, and got the in game experience again and hes ready to go, espcially after his last performance)....really thinking of putting 2 units on both the Cubs @ +110, and the Halos @ -130...

Would really appreciate everyones insite on these 2 games, the Cubbies I like more as the Angels game seems a bit easy as well, and I hate betting on teams that look to good to be true...but in this case I think that the books know that the game is a toss up when Oak and the Halos play, and I rather go with the hotter pitcher and MUCH MUCH MUCH more explosive offense...BP's are about even, and I side with the Angels bench more as well...also, I have learned a good lesson that you cant bet a baseball game jUST because you like the starting pitcher and/or know hes better than his opponent...when the starters are out, and the Bullpens are in, its a whole new ballgame, and after Mariano Rivera, their is no other guy I would want closing out an important game (like the one for the Halos tomm to avoid falling back 4 games) then Franky Rodriguez...lights out is an understate ment for him, and Guerrero being on fire makes the bet even more appealing...let me know guys

just put it in..."Action-Reverse" bet on the Halos/Cubs (and obviously Cubs/Halos) to win 2 UNITS on the first one, and risking 2 UNITS on the second one...love these 2 games, the more I cap them, the more I like them...

QUICK QUESTION

anybody Think action reverse bets are stupid, I mean, in a way im betting both teams anyway right? Its basically a way to get money on both games IF one WINS and you dont have time to put the money on the next game, right?

That is some great capping Vyrus. My concern in playing the Cubs tomorrow is that their record at home was terrible in the first half of the year. They obviously got up for their arch rivals and just played their asses off. Tomorrow they have to bring their A game yet again since they are facing one of the best pitchers in the league. Webb knows Prior is back in form and he knows his teams needs to keep winning. I am leaning toward Arizona but don't see any reason to bet more than usual on either side.

Looks like a good play but Prior is an unknown right now. I can easily see him having a quality start. Cubs confidence also starting to pick up. Hard to pass up getting Webb at + money these days though. He has been outstanding. BOL with the plays man :toast:

I was actually thinking the complete opposite. I was thinkin cubbies look too good to be true, big winning streak, at home, bats are on fire. prior is pitching where he had a no hitter last game until his pitch count. Im leanin towards cubs

I would lean toward Arizona, but I don't feel strong enough to bet it. There's no way I could put money on Prior right now, just couldn't do it. BOL though if you play it.

realy nailed that cubs one down huh? :nohead: \

down 4 units if Angels dont come back from that 3-1 deficit after holding it 1-0 after 6 with Erving throwing a 3 hitter...2 hits later its 3-1...even if Angels win, im still down 2 units because of the "Action Reverse" bet i took for both teams, not realizing that if one loses, i still lose 2 units even if one wins because the losing team is in BOTH bets

This game looked good for many reasons...and Webb being a certainty while Prior was not...became my primary reason for the pick.
