Ryan Shealy is my boy.

This guy is a legit baseball player, and never got any kind of pub in Colorado playing behind Helton. Being traded to Kansas City may be the best thing that has ever happened to him.

He's a big guy, he's got loads of power, and wait to see the kind of power numbers this guy puts up with a full season under his belt. :103631605

The Rockies blew this situation up badly. They were getting some pretty nice offers from Boston last year and wouldn't make the trade even though they knew he would never play with Helton in front of him. So they settle for Jeremy freakin Affeldt and some other kid? Makes no sense...

Yet another typical bonehead move by the Rockies. Shealy looks like a terrific prospect at a position where Helton is entrenched. You might think Colorado could get something of value for the kid. But NO. They make a lame deal with KC and give the kid away. I guess being 4 games out in a pathetic division has caused the front office to start smoking something funny. Affeldt will carry them to the division title. Right. If the past is a guide, Affeldt (ERA 5.91) will get lit up and be gone by September and the organization can save all of that Shealy minor league salary. The local paper is pointing out that Shealy was ONLY 2 for 9 at the plate for the Rockies this season in 5 whole games. Who needs a guy like that?

wait until he gets in a groove, gets a season or 2 under his belt

guy was injured early in his college career at florida, when he finally got healthy, and played a full year his senior year, he nearly broke florida single season HR record set by Brad Wilkerson.

If he had a healthy career in college, he would have been a much more highly touted draft pick, and received a lot more pub.

Stepped in last year here and there with a few starts and pinch hits and crushed the ball without being able to get into any kind of groove.

I agree. They settled for Affeldt.

They could have gotten more.

wish the rocks could've dealt helton instead. he must have a no trade. they could be in 1st if he was producing. i agree, these 2 pitchers from kc, i wouldn't have taken them if they said i could've had them for free.
