It would be hard to beat the MLB package though.

I personally don't like some of the Sirius channels, but it really doesn't matter. Guess it comes down to MLB vs NFL and if you care about Stern. Otherwise not like there is much to distinguish the two. Maybe you like one's hardware better?

XM has the better hardware right now, though that gap should be narrowing over the coming year. Sirius currently has the NFL and will have NASCAR starting next season. I *think* they both have the NHL and NBA. They've got an assortment of college conferences--last time I checked Sirius may hae had more numerically but XM has the ACC and Big 10 exclusively. Sirius has the SEC and Big East.

Both have the usual stuff--NPR, CNN, etc. Musical channels are basically personal preference, and Sirius does have Howard Stern.

I've got Sirius, mainly for the NFL. Personally, if I were making a choice this time of year that would probably make my decision for me....

Thanks for the info.

I am not thrilled with the XM music lineup. I think they try to be an everything for everybody service. They must have 90 channels that I have not even listened to for one second.

I wish they would offer speciality packages where you could order a bunch of country stations or classic rock stations to make it more personal.

If you guys are saying the Sirus is the same in the music department, than I will stick with XM. XM has great sports and the baseball package is king.

If you want to check out the music channels, go to the Sirius website--they used to have a thing where you could get a free three day online trial of the music channels. You just need to give 'em your email address and they're very good about not innundating your mailbox with spam...

Agree with your general gripe about the satellite radio music channels--they try to cover too much ground to appeal to a really wide audience. When I can go online and find six stations that play nothing but Norweigan death metal or Native American techno the music on satellite really can't compete...

Had XM and switched to Sirius.

Sirius is more rock oriented, but their playlists aren't that deep. You'll hear the same AC/DC song 4 times a week where you'll here more variety with XM. Only reason I have Sirius is because of Stern. XM's hardware and signal is better.

I love Sirius. However, since you love baseball so much, you need to stick with xm. I think they have exclusive MLB for the next 10 years.

What I've heard

is that XM has better music and more power. If they had NFL I would have it. I hate Stern so that is not going to get me to try Sirius.

I'm waiting to hear more positive things about Sirius before making the leap myself.

Sirius has started to gain ground on subscribers over the last few quarters. I see them being closer to being profitable and I can't wait for a buyout to come.

Call XM up and say you're going to cancel. You'll get a deal something along the lines of 6 months free, and a reduced rate afterward

one of my buddies did this and he got a 2 year agreement for 3 bucks a month.so he took it and still signed up at sirius too.xm has been doing this type of thing for the last 6 months,i guess they feel the heavy breathing as sirius has added about 3.5 million people since the first of the year(gee i wonder why?):puppy:

You know the NFL package sounds great and everything, but after thinking to myself I asked myself this question. How many Sunday afternoons during a football season im I in my car listening to the radio? The answer is maybe 1 or 2 times a season. If football games are being played, im either at the game or watching it on tv. The NFL package would not do me much good. I only have XM in my car. Thats all its needed for.

But for baseball, since its an everyday game, there are countless days and nights where the MLB package comes in handy.

Chop,
That's the exact reason why $.5b for the NFL package was ridiculous.
