Just wondering in anyone uses his premium service called action alerts plus at the street.com? Its near impossible to find out a track record. How often do the buy recommendations come per week/month. I know he keeps about 25 stocks in this portfolio which is worth around 3 million.

I've watched him many times on his mad money show on CNBC but don't know if the action alerts service is worth it?

Any info would be appreciated before I plunk my money down.

Thanks in advance

By the time he gives you something to buy on the air and everybody gets in line to buy it is time to sell.

I love the show, and I love the book. The first book that explained stocks in such a way that I felt I really got it.

He's entertaining as hell, and often comes up with good advice. Like any other expert, you shouldn't consider him the gospel but he's at least fun to watch. He's really missed his calling--he should have been a Stu Feiner like tout. Can't you just imagine him pitching a "100,000 never lost game of the year"?

The book you want is "Real Money: Sane Investing in an Insane World". Also worth reading is his autobiography "Confessions of a Street Addict" though if you want to learn about investing the first title is the way to go.

Any actual users of the action alert service?

My dad uses action alerts, I am not sure how he has been doing lately, haven't really talked to him about it much. He now runs my portfolio as well and I just haven't been paying attention at all. He watches Cramer every single day, tivos him. He isn't online right now, I won't be able to talk to him for a few days, but I'll ask how he is doing when I do and try to remember to bump this.

I'm 196th out of 1150 or so and we play again tomorrow at noon vegas time. Top 873 get paid. I have 119,800 in chips and the average stack is 76k I believe, so I am in pretty good shape. Blinds will be 600/1200/a200 for an hour then jump to 8/16/a2 for 2 hour levels.

Thanks Matt. When you talk to your dad, also asked him how often the buy/sell recommendations come to his email address.
