My buddy told me this story last night about two friends of his. I have met them both, but don't know either very well. One guy, Matt, is a complete degenerate. I mean, worse than I ever thought someone could be. He owes bookies, has drained all of his offshores.....it's bad. The other guy, Jay, is the biggest square in the world, but he has no money and bets $5.00 to win $1.50 on huge favorites. He only plays at sportsbook.com, and has lost like 2 grand in the last year betting these tiny amounts. I thought that was hilarious, because it's damn hard to lose that much betting $5 a pop. Anyway, Matt called Jay to see if he would place a bet online for him. He wasn't home, so he gave Matt his password. Dude bets like $50 and they settle up the next day. Two weeks later, Jay logs in, and Matt had bet his whole account, $300, on a play and lost. He wasn't going to tell him either. I mean, who the hell logs into a buddy's account and bets the whole thing without telling him? What a fucking degenerate. He paid that debt off like 6 months later. My buddy told Jay to change his freaking password. He calls sportsbook, and they say fine, no problem, you just need to fax in your id to prove that it's you that is changing it. But no, Jay won't do that, because he's paranoid of identity theft. So he won't change his password, and he won't get a new book, because "he's always played with sportsbook.com, feels a loyalty to them, and couldn't bet anywhere else." He thinks they are the greatest thing out there, but he won't trust them enough to send a picture id in. So he leaves everything as is, and the other day he logs in and whadda ya know? Matt has again drained his accounts and didn't tell him.

This may sound like a JJ Gold story, but these people are real. I can only imagine logging in to my accounts and seeing that viking611 or kornholio bet 60 of my units chasing with the Cardinals last night. On a serious note, if you are addicted to gambling, get help. This guy is a nice kid, but his life is seriously messed up because of gambling.

Being on the sportsbook side you get to meet so many people and see so many crazy things bettors do its down right a crazy emotional rollercoaster for some of them.

Sometimes you hope these guys win because their daily grind on sports is amazing and they can't pick a winner if they had biffs score book......The best part of Two For The Money was when Al Pacino walks into the GA meeting and sells everyone on the idea that the reason they gamble is not to win, but on the idea of loosing........
