I shopped all the local stores, Circuit City, Best Buy, Fry's and Costco. I still wound up ordering a Dell on-line. I'm not much of a gamer. It's mostly for work, some surfing the internet and music downloads. I'll load it up with Word and Excel myself. Does anyone know how much life to expect from the battery, I passed on the upgrade.

Did I do ok?

Anyone know the over/under on Dell E1505's?

Truth is I didn't want a 17" monitor, I'll be dragging this thing around with me all day. Resale value obviously isn't an issue so I could care less if they stop making them tommorow. The Dell I'm posting from I paid about $300.00 bucks for about 4 years ago.

A friend of mine told me to do the dell thing. Order exactly what you want.

But when I want something I want it yesterday. So I usually buy stock.Just bought my wife a new one and put a wirelss modem in.

Nothing like being able to sit on the commode and call someone a cocksucker on here.

Kiss:

I have a 3 year old Dell Inspiron 2650 and still have the original battery. I do however rarely use the laptop without having the AC adaptor connected. It is what I use everyday, approximately 12 hours/day. So far, so good.

i have two brand new dell laps. An Inspiron 9300 which is very nice and a Latitude D610. Both have been good computers for 6 months....batteries don't last too long especially on my 9300 but that is because i have a huge ass screen. The smaller one last longer, usually 3 hours

Kiss...if you have either a built in Wireless or a wireless card you can go wifi...you just need to find the wireless signal when your away from your home router...you just right click on your wireless attenna icon in your tool bar that will come up when you try to log on to the nest when your away and it will find a signal , IF one is availlable and auto connect you

some though are not free public wifi some you have to pay and it will prompt you ..if that is needed

Have to be within a certain distance of the router (or use somebody elses if left open). In Cyprus it reaches to the pool, which is about 300m away from the router, not sure what the official range is.
