I see this being the only weakness of their team. I think that they are a shoe in as far as making the playoffs out of the Central. How many times have we as poster and cappers....blasted the Tigers for leaving Jones as the Closer? I would like the Tigers chances alot more if they were to move Rodney into that spot. Thoughts welcome.:103631605

I think everyone would have agreed with you about 6 weeks ago but he has converted like 15 save opps in a row and I think he has only given up like 1 run in last 17 innings or so. Hard to pull a guy that is doing his job, in fact he has 1 less blown save this year than Mariano Rivera and a few less losses than him.

With that being said, it sure does seem like he never gets the other team out 1-2-3 or without a flyball to the track.

Considering their ERA is half a run better than the rest of the league and have the best setup men in baseball - far.

i think both of you hit on it, Number #1 T Jones has been consistent the last 60 days, and as a mgr that is the thing you look at the most not if he is blowing it by the batters, Number # 2 as a former college pitcher myself i know as it gets late in the game the batters start to show a little more intensity and have got their timing down somewhat, and with best set up man in the game(prob the next best closer in the near future) you bring in Jones to follow zumya there is a drastic change in speeds where as if you follow up with rodney you get close to the samething you get with zumya, both are similiar in how they attack the batters and close in velocity, i dare say rodney is as good as zumya, but i will say if your sp can get thru the 6th inning in the playoffs i would hate to know i had to face rodney in the 7th , Zumya in the 8th, and T Jones in the 9th. sounds like a plan.

Only thing that worries me is the shit record vs top tier teams (CWS/NYY/BOS). Would like to see Zumaya as a closer as Jones never makes it easy, but he has done his job lately and hasn't blown a save in a while.

Rodney, Zumaya, Jones have been solid so as long as they can get a quality 6 innings or more out of starters, which they have been, they should be cool.

Grilli and Colon worry me as long relief pitchers at times.

Been a long time coming and after suffering through 10+ shit years with this club, we are jacked up about the potential of this team.
