Updating my record for the whole weekend.

3-3 (+0.60 units) Saturday
3-3 (-0.90 units) yesterday
76-65 (+10.71 units) overall

Split my plays yesterday, losing just under a unit. Guess I can live with that, but that makes four out of five losing days for me. I find myself with football starting yesterday, caring less and less about baseball right now. Lets try this again.

phillies -119 vs atlanta (3 units)..............Phillies trail in the wild card by only 3.5 games, I find that to be a miracle, while the braves are 5.5 back. This series in crucial to both teams if they have any hopes. Phillies are finishing up a nine game road trip in atlanta. After that they come home for ten straight and seven of those ten are against the mets and wildcard leading reds. It is crucial for my philles to take two of three in atlanta. Brett Myers has pitched very well since coming back from his trouble he was in. He needs to pitch great to try and get back in favor of the phils fans after hitting his wife. There is no excuse for what he did, and nothing especially playing a game of baseball can do to make up for hitting his wife, but just imagine how bad he would get booed if he sucked on the field as well. Myers has only give up three walks in his last four starts with 30 strikeouts in 29 innings. Other the other side, braves pitcher Horacio Ramirez (5-4, 4.35 ERA), has not fared so well vs the phillies. ATL: LHP Horacio Ramirez (5-4, 4.35 ERA) The Phillies own a .371 batting average and a .517 slugging percentage against Ramirez. Between how well myers has thrown and the phillies ability to hit ramirez, I see a phillies win tonight....or maybe it is just wishful thinking from a phillies fan. Us phillies fan never give up,even if we are disappointed every year. A friend of mine asked me who the nl wild card would be the other day....I TOLD HIM THE METS. (joking of course) We will find out tonight. I say phils win a easy one.

dodgers -155 vs colorado (3 units)...........Why would you go against a red hot dodger team that has the nl allstar starter throwing for them? The answer is you don't. These two are battling not only for a wild card, but the nl west division title. What a great race out in the west. I am going to ride the dodgers for a while, you would be a fool not to. I hope I did not jump on the bandwagon too late.

cincinnati -113 vs st louis (2 units)...............the cards finally broke their losing streak this weekend. I would say they are still ice cold. reds are still leading the wildcard race, they are at home and the cards have weaver pitching for them. Any team that puts a guy like weaver in the starting rotation has got to be desparate for pitchers. That is why the cards have been losing...not for a lack of offense. Weaver should get lit up again.

detroit +1.5 (-131) vs minnesota (2 units)...........Big pitching advantage for the twins in this one, but it is at detroit and the tigers are capable of scoring on any pitcher in their own ballpark. I liked the tigers at plus 130, but like them even better with the runline only laying 131. Even though I think the tigers can and will win this game, I feel safer getting the run and a half in case minnesota pulls out a close one run game.

white sox -115 vs angels (1 unit)...........I know that sox have not played as well this year, but for a team that seems to be not playing so great they are sure in the thick of things in the wild card. Looking back at the standings, I am wrong saying they are not playing so great. It is just the tigers are playing super great. The sox are 34-19 at home. I am not going to pass up the sox at home, with
Buehrle pitching as this small a favorite.

Usually I play another one unit play as well, but with the short card I cannot find anything else. If it were not for my phillies still being in the wildcard race right now, I wouild be tempted to stop playing bases and concentrate strictly on football.

Good Luck Everybody!!
