If the feds or another government agency wanted posters' personal information (name, addy, etc) would you oblidge?

What makes you think we have any names or addresses?

All it takes to register at The Rx. is an email address. I have no idea who you are or what your address is. Unless IPs are legal home addresses the Rx. is clueless to any private information belonging to it's posters..

Sure I can check IPs but that is it when it comes to identifing registered posters.. Push comes to shove all the Rx. could do is tell some authority what poster XYZ's internet service provider is..

Thanks Wil. Would you give out IP addresses? Certainly someone's identity can be revealed with the information you could provide. Would you make it easy for them?

I have no idea.. The Rx. is a Canadien corporation and personally I am not familiar with their disclosure laws.

To be honest I think you are being a bit paranoid if you think any knid of law enforcement agency is going to try to indict poster WVU (or any other Rx. posting handle) for simply posting on the internet. Nevermind go international and cross borders to prosecute a poster. Cases are made against real people not internet personnas.

not only that but certainly a posters' identity could be traced through any clickthrough and signup using one of the banners. Also our registration for the IP would pretty much be a dead giveaway.

I am not trying to get under your skin or anything like that. I just have a real concern that I am sure others share.

United States - Georgia - Atlanta - Bellsouth.net Inc.

Clickthough's do not give us any information other than there was a clickthrough. Contact books about that info.

OK cool. Just wondering because this site would certainly be on my radar if I wanted to go after sports gamblers and tax evaders.

Because I use Bellsouth, my IP address changes all the time. Others aren't so lucky. With a dynamic IP address your location can be traced to a specific location.
