Baltimore +1.20 over TORONTO<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" /><o:p></o:p>
Perhaps a few bus rides woke up Daniel Cabrera and he’ll be able to do what he does best and that’s mow down major league hitters. Cabrera was sent down just before the all-star break because he’s been walking way too many batters, however, when this guy isn’t issuing free passes he’s as good as any pitcher in the business. The Orioles likely received about 29 calls inquiring about Cabrera just before the deadline because every GM in the league would love to have him; he’s that good when he’s on his game. In 85 innings he’s only allowed seven jacks and the opposition is hitting .248 off him. Imagine what they’d be hitting if he was ahead in the count and not down 2-0 and 3-1. Yeah, the Jays are off the mattress with two straight wins but they’re still blowing way too many scoring opportunities. Shaun Marcum looks like he could be a keeper but he never goes more than five innings and he’s been very inconsistent. Manager John Gibbons is very quick with the hook when Marcum gets into trouble and that can’t be good for a kid’s mindset, thinking he has to be near flawless and that, too, can only help us. Play: Baltimore +1.20 (Risking 1.5 units).

NY Yankees –1 +1.06 over CHICAGO<o:p></o:p>
Yankees are on a serious tear, winning 10 of its last 12 and 16 of 22 since the break. They’ve also won 10 of 15 at this venue and they catch the South Side at precisely the right time because the White Sox, as you all know, are losing far more often than they’re winning these days. Chicago lost again last night to the Angels in a make-up game and will have to face Chien Ming Wang tonight. Wang is as consistent as any hurler in the business. The man is a ground-ball machine that makes it look effortless at times. In 156 innings of work he’s only served up eight jacks and that’s remarkable. He’s made 23 starts for the Pinstripes and he’s only lost four times but the best thing is that the White Sox have not seen him yet and that works hugely in our favor. By contrast, Freddy Garcia has given up 24 bombs in 140 innings and the Yanks torched him already once this season. A hot Yanks team against a very average Garcia definitely works for us. Play: NY Yankees –1 +1.06 (Risking 1.5 units).

OAKLAND +1.10 over Texas<o:p></o:p>
If the A’s give up a few runs they score more and when they only score three they hold the opposition to two. The A’s are playing too good to ignore as a home pooch and the fact tat they’re taking back a tag at home is ludicrous. Oakland has now won five in a row and they’re 6-1 its past seven against the other three AL West teams that are trying to catch them. Shane Komine makes just his second start of the year and didn’t look a bit out of place in is first against the Jays, allowing just one runs and four hits in six innings. Remember, Komine dazzled in the minors with a 0.42 ERA over his last 42 2-3 innings in Triple-A Sacramento before being called up. Kevin Millwood is a reliable starter but not a dominant one and frankly, we just don’t see where the Rangers have an edge in this one. This one is a must play regardless of the outcome. Play: Oakland +1.10 (Risking 1.5 units).
