I've been a member here since the beginning and it has been one of the finest sites for gambling and handicapping information anywhere on the web. Anyone that knows me is aware of my hatred for touts. When we first started posting here it was awesome. Everyone shared information on games for fun and for free. Don't get me wrong I still love the Rx and always will enjoy talking football and other sports, but it makes me sick to think that this site has set up a forum strictly for touts to come in here and sucker young gamblers into sending them money. I would love to see this site go back the way it was but I realize it's all about the $$$. I have come in here and bashed the hell out a well known tout and looking back it probably wasn't the right thing to do. My apologies to all at the Rx but my hatred for touts will never go away. I have never paid for a pick in my life but I know many people who have sent these scum bags thousands of dollars only to realize they are all frauds. Hell I personally used to work with a tout who was very well known around the country and made a killing ripping people off. He would even admit to me how crooked he and all others were. Take care guys and please there are a number of great cappers here on the Rx that give out free picks and do just as well as the touts that charge for them. I always said if a tout was so good at picking winners he would just be a professional gambler. Thanks and I hope you all have a great year betting football. Later!!
There've been lots of discussions, mainly not here, about Touts. There are a few that are long-term winners, and there are a few services worth subscribing to. I use a few services (1 MLB, 1 tennis, TBD Football), and have no regrets.. I know what I'm getting, and that's slightly +EV vs WA picks, that become even more +EV with good betting strategy.

Harrington, you make it sound like there are touts all over this forum. The fact is there are almost none at all still posting in the sport forums (a few still do until discovered). They are all banished to Site Promotions which is just what it says it is - a place for promotions. We get all kinds of people promoting their websites here, some are touts, others competing forums and a bunch of catch all stuff like stock tips, software sales, money market sales etc etc..
I know you have a running feud with Kodiak but that is no reason to dis the entire website. He has been a poster here for a long time and is contained to Site Promotions for his tout stuff and The Rubber Room for his flame battles.
To have or not have a Site Promotions forum has been a long debated question here at The Rx. it exists so we have someplace to put all the promotional threads that get posted here. Some posters will never be happy even if all the touts are in the SP forum but that is a trade off I feel The Rx. has to make in order to keep from flat out banning anyone suspected of selling picks.

Harrington--Wilheim is as correct as anybody possibly can be.......it is really a Catch-22 sword.
If you were to ask any mods here, I doubt any would fully support the recommendation of paying for selections from a tout.
I have made my stance very clear over the years on touts and suggest that nobody ever pay for selections.
Having said that, I do believe that some touts/football insiders MAY be worth a SMALL fraction of ones bankroll for their opinions/stats/write-ups on games that can aid the gambler in coming out ahead.
For instance........the PHIL STEELE's, GOLD SHEETs, and a few others that could be labeled as "touts"............will get my business in a very small way in correlation to my overall bankroll for their publications(which do include picks) and mainly use them for their opinions/stats/writeups and such on games.
Overall, frequenting this forum and a few others around the web are overall MUCH better avenues to take than paying touts .........even for the services that I mentioned above............and its FREE.

It would be nice if RX banned all touts, but that would increase the number of ghosts and that would be more trouble than allowing them in the tout forum.
A new crop of tout wannabees grows each year and already I can spot a couple posters that will soon be wanting money for picks.
Im sure Wilheim and the other mods here also notice these types of posters and soon enough will be sending them to the tout forum.

This is so true and you don't even have to shell out the money as there are forums that have service play sections you can read some services write-ups.
I capp my games the night before and early am then I browse and compare to my thoughts.
Whats annoying are the loud mouth touts that seem as if thier never handicapping just seems thier trolling day and night.
