This is a new arrest. Don't confuse with the old one.

Ex-Ohio State RB Maurice Clarett arrested <!-- END HEADLINE -->
<!-- BEGIN STORY BODY -->38 minutes ago

Former Ohio State running back Maurice Clarett tussled with police during a traffic stop early Wednesday before officers discovered four loaded guns in his sport utility vehicle, a police spokesman said.
Officers used Mace to subdue Clarett after a stun gun was ineffective because the suspect was wearing a bullet-resistant vest, Sgt. Michael Woods said.
"It took several officers to get him handcuffed," Woods said. "Even after he was placed in the paddy wagon, he was still kicking at the doors and being a problem for the officers."
Clarett, 22, is currently awaiting trial on two counts of aggravated robbery, four counts of robbery and one count of carrying a concealed weapon in a separate case. Authorities said he was identified by witnesses as the person who flashed a gun and robbed two people in an alley behind the Opium Lounge in the early hours of Jan. 1.
Clarett scored the winning touchdown in the second overtime to lead Ohio State to the 2002 national championship, the school's first since 1968. But that was the last game the freshman played for Ohio State. He sat out the 2003 season after being charged with misdemeanor falsification on a police report, then dropped out of school. He sued to be included in the 2004 NFL draft and lost in court.
A surprise third-round pick in the 2005 draft, he was cut by the Denver Broncos during the preseason.

It's just crazy that he hasn't learned his lesson yet.

All he had to do was bust his ass with the Broncos and he would have put his past away for good.

He couldn't bust his ass with the Broncos - he had a pulled hamstring, but the Broncos were kind enough to pay him $400,000 and then set him up with a team in NFL Europe with the understanding that if he did well they would consider resigning him. Then the idiot goes out and assaults the guy with the cell phone 2 days before he is to report to his team in Europe...

Well, he probably had the vest left from his year at Ohio State(U of Miami North). They issue them to all recruits at the same time as their play books at Thug State.

What a joke he has become...

Very clear that he needs to be locked up and undergo some major mental therapy.

Ohio State sold their soul to win that championship, and they will forever pay the price.

How did Ohio State sell their soul? They cut his ass as soon as he started breaking the rules. Many teams would have made excuses to keep him there 3 years.

How can a former college player get into things like that. Doesn't he have a degree? I mean if you live in a ghetto, some how you understand still not an excuse but you do. His f** brain must be f** up.

Where's Jim Brown surely he has an excuse for Maurice driving around with 4 guns wearing a bullet proof vest.

It's good to see the hitmen don't see an assault rifle and 3 hand guns, avoiding police, driving acroos highway medians, and being outfitted in a bulletproof vest as being a big deal - they've seen worse:

From ESPN:

Clarett plans to play for the Mahoning Valley Hitmen, one of five teams in the Eastern Indoor Football League. The team, based in Clarett's hometown of Youngstown, is to begin play in January.
Hitmen coach and owner Jim Terry said that there was no indication that anything was wrong when he spoke with Clarett by cell phone early Wednesday morning about the team's upcoming tryouts. The call was disconnected around 1 a.m. and Terry missed Clarett's second call about an hour and a half later, which would have been near the time when police say they saw Clarett make a U-turn.
The arrest will not affect Clarett's status with the team, Terry said.
"We gave him a chance and now we'll wait to see what happens," he said. "I've seen far worse situations than this."

I couldn't believe what I was hearing when this was on the radio this morning.

Throw him in the pen for 20 years-it may be the only way to save his life at this rate.

What is even more ridiculous is:

If you are wearing a bulletproof vest and are on your way to go pop someone - DONT MAKE AN ILLEGAL UTURN.

There was a report tonight that they suspected that he was in the Goose before Bronco practices, and a lot of people knew it.

WTF is he doing, trying to come down off the blow? Would seem like a fit with the rampant noids\loaded guns in the car\etc.
