The local Syracuse newspaper ran an editorial about how they support the current anti-gambling legislation going to the Senate. They went on to talk about how internet gambling ruins lives, destroys families, etc.
Then I turned to their sports section, and I see the daily sports lines and horse racing results from Saratoga and Finger Lakes tracks. In another section I see lottery results. In the classified section, I see ads for jobs at the local casino, Turning Stone. In the entertainment section there are ads for the same casino and various poker and casino nights.
Talk about hypocrites!

I would send them a letter stating due to their views on freedom I and all of my friends and all of their friends will be canceling our subscriptions to your paper.

You could also point out their hypocrisy.

Sean,
The thing that has always bothered me most, is when these people get on their soap box and tell you how to live your life. The "we know what is good for you" stance.

Excellent post, CC. Cancel that paper and tell them why.
Do it in writing and send a copy to all your local TV stations. There's nothing that Tv likes better than to take a shot at the newspaper.
