we had some people including mods talking about their 20+dime balances and taking 10k withdrawals. we had marty talking about how safe our balances and for further reassurance our balances were guaranteed upto 10k if we signed up under the rx banner and had a minimum number of posts.

..I never tried BOS again since they where my first book like 6 yrs ago and I did not like them and I did not like them at all from what I heard over the years from the posters of THIS forum..did not need to play there I have always stayed with oly and Pinny that does not mean everyone did not like them

Unfortunately, as the dust is settling, it is becoming incredibly clear that BOS is not out of business because of government actions but they are out of business because they simply did not have adequate funds to cover players' accounts and on multiple occasions committed fraud.
I am not out anything significant, but I hope Marty steps up and covers players funds that he promised because many players went to BOS based on his insurance.

I agree with Kidslick, I think people should be accountable for their own mistakes and not go crying to the rx. The insurance was promised with the intention of covering one no-pay or dispute. I am quite sure it was not offered with the intent of covering balances in the event BOS closed...we would literally be talking about hundreds of thousands of dollars. It was prety well documented here and everywhere else for that matter that BOS was a shit book; if you played there knowing this, where is your accountability?

Harry, this was their top rated book. How sould we be accountable? What did we do wrong... go to a very popular site and use their top reccommendation for a book.. How much more research do we need to do. I even asked if BoS was reputable. do a search for that thread. Im pissed because i NEVER stiffed anyone in my life, put myself in uncomfortable situations to make payments , and now my profits from the wourld cup are gone, with out even a lube job first

Many years ago I lost a small amount at a book called oddsnends sports so I know in a small way the feeling of this if in fact its a stiff and its NOT a good feeling ...that book was here it was a new book and I tried it on my own free will and blamed myself for trying a new book and that was the cost .....I agree BOS was not new but I think this is a tad bit different in Oddsends just up and tanked BOS got shutdown by the DOJ ....just a little different no? but that is no excuse for them not to pay ...

If BOS was a solvent book shut down by the DOJ, they could and would pay balances.
BOS shut down because they are broke, not because the DOJ doesn't like them (See WWTS, WSEX) BOS was on a spiral downward before the DOJ and the indictment was simply the final straw or excuse to close a company that was hemorraging money.

they could have sent the players back their money via check
they chose not to do that for any number of excuses
now they wave their hands and say too bad we pay out in order of claim
and that they dont have the money
in my mind thats alot worse management and abuse of trust than fighting some guy over 5,000 that they claim multiple ip addresses for.

hopefully the players get something back - but theres been alot of lying to people by bos management thats for sure.
