Visa Gift Cards

Anyone ever use these? You can load them up to $500 for only 4 bucks, and it says you can use them anywhere Visa is accepted. Works just like a Visa debit card.

I use a local but am looking to deposit at a sportsbook, and also at Party Poker. It says you can use the card for any online transaction.

My question is, will this thing allow "onling gaming" transactions? I will be getting it through National City...

Thanks for anyone who has used these. And please don't bother, I know about Neteller and e funds and every other funding method. This will work best for me.

Harry,

I had an instant load debit card I used to deposit at Pinnacle and it went through with no problem and they are very similar to the gift cards. I had to fax over a CC authorization form and a copy of my ID when I got a payout, but since the card had no name on it I was forced to send them a copy of my statement complete with letter head etc.... I don't recomend you use any card that does not have your name on it just incase you want to pull your funds out. Use it at Western Union and send them cash......... :103631605

Thanks. I will be getting a non-personalized card. I really just want to deposit at CRIS to qualify for a football contest at another site (sorry Rx). I know this method will make it a pain in the ass to withdrawl, but I probably wouldn't do so until my balance was $500 or more, and at that point I will have them send me a check.
I was just going to throw an extra $100 or so on to play some Party Poker for the hell of it; my GF will be out of town all day tomorrow and poker sounds better than yardwork. :103631605

I am most concerned with the card working at a poker site. I remember back in the day (4 or 5 yrs ago) I was using a Visa debit card at Paradise Poker and it worked just fine. But I also remember at one point they stopped taking one of my cards because they no longer authorized gaming transactions. Just curious, it's not the end of the world if I put $100 on and can't use it at PP, I'll just spend it at the bar! :toast:

Be careful i dont think any of the cards you buy from like a bank will work. They state on the pamphlet that they will not work for gambling at all.

What pamphlet?

If it is declined I will have to set up a neteller account or something. They work for online purchases so a site like Neteller would have to work.

I got one of the Visa Gift Cards at a Mall once while I was there for another reason...I thought I would give it a whirl

it did NOT work at any book, OR Neteller

They do NOT work for gambling or anything related....They also do not work for porn (I didnt try it, but its stated) or anything that a minor could potentially do

Don't forget, 16-17 year olds can be buying these cards for birthday gifts for friends, etc....they have to be extremely careful

Pinny says western union not available now. Is that temporary?

I am not sure since I switched to Neteller after the CC issue.... But Western Union is slowly becoming a thing of the past. Too much paper trail and sportsbooks loose a lot in client fees, download fees, and some of these Western Union offices will just run off with your money. Plus you have to ante up each transfer on a weekly basis etc.......

I think all books are eventually going to go all online like pinny and few other pioneers already doing this.

I had a gift debit card once and it worked at oly but they will credit it back to that gift card any winnings up the amount of deposit

at least that was the way it was at that time

I got the card. It worked at BetCRIS and Party Poker, no problems whatsoever.

I was told by CS for withdrawls they can send me a check, which is cool with me. This is a one-time thing.

I went to this website. Seems very good. My question that I couldn't find the answer on the website is:
Did you have to give any of your personal information (name, S.S# etc) in order to get the card in person?
Also when was the last time you funded neteller with it?

depends on the bank. I got it through National City and they said the max was $500, although I only put $230 on it. $3.95 fee.

it would be great if you could put say 2000 on it and you could go to the bank to do that. No embarrassing looks or anything just say your going on vacation or something. I always hated going to local supermarket and give them 1000 to send western union, that doenst look right.
