Your theory is pretty valid I believe because baseball players in general are the smartest athletes of all sports and that coupled with the love for competition nurture a certain rush from gambling. Now I know there will be athletes from other sports abuse me for even saying baseball players are smart but in general, baseball players are not as athletic as say basketball players but more cerebral in their game. Count me in as a baseball player who loves to gamble, quite often to a fault.
