Though the public often refers to sports book managers as oddsmakers, it’s the bettors who really set the odds. With a few exceptions, most managers do not even attempt to show an opinion. When an opinion is shown, one ‘limit’ bet will send the typical book scrambling, quickly moving to get balanced action.

It is important to note that many bettors may disagree with my opinions on the above games, and I’ll likely be wrong on at least one. However, my point is that a sports book manager should be able to deal an opinion on a game right now. He should not be so helpless that he has to use a spread AND a moneyline in order to deal a 100 percent neutral line vs. the marketplace.

DISAGREE. The reason these BOOKS now deal 2 1/2 -120, 1 1/2 -115, and such is because they are using software that allows them to rape the player with JUICE.

I mean you even see numbers on DONBEST for HOOPS where they will post 2 1/2 -120, what the hell is that? But you look back 8 or 9 years ago, you never seen that on DONBEST.

BOOKING has made many a BOOKIE rich and they got there by dealing 110 to win 100.

I saw a total on DONBEST this year in MLB, 9 1/2 ov200? Now for the sharp looking for the under, great, but for average Joe wanting to bet the game over?

It's outta control, but mostly in part beacause the SOFTWARE allows them to BOOK that way. At least thats how I see.

Best of luck.................
