I am just a football and B-ball guy, but have ventured into a little mlb late this season. I have been playing a few 2 team ml parlays and just betting on the ml for teams I like that night.

I need a sound explanation of how the round robins work. Also the different types...like the 2x6, 3x4 or whatever they are

Thanks...

its basically a way to take a number of teams,3 up to 8 usually, and parlay them in various ways. say if you like the astros, whitesox, and twins today and would like to parlay them ,you could do a three team parlay but if one team loses your parlay is shot.If you do a round robin of the three you do and could win with various combinations of the three.
basically it is three different combinations of two team parlays. It is more expensive than just a three team parlay so make sure you check you wager before you finalize it, you would be surprised how it adds up. Pacman hit an 1140$ last night and with the high juice on these teams ,its a good way to wager without trying to hit a 3 team parlay.I am going to do one on the astros, yanks, and white sox.

cheers

you may also want to look at an "if" bet or "reverse if",there are some great games for that today. here is a definition from my sportsbook on these types of wagers. its a way to hedge if you dont want to try the 3 team parlay. if one team in an if bet,the first team in the wager wins, you at least havent lost everything.

NEW**--IF BETS
An "IF" wager allows the client to make a second wager, pending a win, loss or tie on the first selection. "IF" wagers must be made on the same call, with the second part of the "IF" wager not exceeding the amount of the first selection.
There are four types of "IF" wagers: IF win only, IF win or tie, IF lose, IF lose or tie.
For example: San Diego +3 $110 to win $100 IF WIN OR TIE then Oakland -2.5 $110 to win $100.
If the Chargers lose, the wager is over and the client loses the $110 bet on SD +3. If the Chargers win or tie, then the wager continues on to the Raiders wager. If the Raiders win, the client wins a total of $200. If the Raiders lose, the client only loses $10.
REVERSE IF BETS
A Reverse IF bet is a double action IF bet, a two part wager.
For example: Dallas -7 $110 to win $100 IF WIN then Miami +4 $110 to win $100.
With a Reverse IF bet, the client has Dallas -7, and if that wins, the client will also have Miami +4, AND the client has Miami +4 and if that wins, the client will have Dallas -7. It is basically a two sided IF bet.
**NEW**--ROUND ROBINS
A Round Robin is a combination of 2 team parlays involving 3 or more teams.
For example: Carolina +7, St. Louis -9, and Green Bay -4
<TABLE cellSpacing=2 cellPadding=0 width="68%" align=center border=1><TBODY><TR class=sports-betting-small2><TD><CENTER>Carolina +7 </CENTER></TD><TD><CENTER>Green Bay -4 </CENTER></TD><TD><CENTER>Green Bay -4 </CENTER></TD></TR><TR class=sports-betting-td-menu bgColor=#1a2da3><TD><CENTER>St. Louis -9 100/260 </CENTER></TD><TD><CENTER>St. Louis -9 100/260 </CENTER></TD><TD><CENTER>Carolina +7 100/260 </CENTER></TD></TR></TBODY></TABLE>
The client is risking $300 to win $780.
<TABLE cellSpacing=0 cellPadding=0 width="100%" border=0><TBODY><TR><TD><HR SIZE=1></TD></TR><TR><TD class=sports-betting-txt4></TD></TR></TBODY></TABLE>

Just think of RR's as "All possibles" (but you can restrict them).

Simply put, a 5 team RR is a 5 teamer and all possible combos of 4, 3, and 2 teamers.

The "true" odds of 2 and 3 team parlays are better than a straight bet by about 1%. So, if you hit 2 or 3 team parlays , you are better off.
Betting 4 team parlays or greater is "not smart". 4+ team parlays lose 12-15% of the value, not to mention how hard they are to hit.
I play 5 team round robins by 2's for a certain amount and I also do it by 3's for a lessor amount. When you hit, You hit nicely. A great way to bet heavy favs. Sometimes I'll add a 6th team that is a lock (cws last night) but just to heavy to bet straight.
You can really clean up if you hit a RR witgh some nice dogs. You'd be surprised how much they add up even throwing a rr by 3's for 5-10$ per.
Be careful you don't put all heavy dogs in becuase they will cap the payouts, Ex +1.40,+1.60, +170 may excede max payout and you would have been better off playing 1 of those +1.5 runs. Trial and error.
Answer. They are great bets if you go 2/3 or 3/5 or better.
