Damn Astros have been killing me the last 4 games...very frustrating for me as an Astros fan.
Hoping that today is an easy win, but it never is with this team. Makes me really wonder are we that bad?

Sorry had to rant for a few...

It’s funny what an 18-inning game can do to a baseball’s team pitching rotation.
In the case of the Chicago Cubs, it has prompted manager Dusty Baker to scratch starter Rich Hill for this afternoon’s game with the Houston Astros after the lefty threw two innings and got the win in the 8-6 marathon win Tuesday night. As a result, most sportsbooks have pulled the game off the board until the Cubs manager decides who will start opposite Andy Pettitte when the two teams square off at 2:05 p.m. ET today.

They haven't announced yet but I still expect him to start.

Cubs called up left handed starter Ryan O'Malley from Iowa...

He gets the start this afternoon.

Any stats and what he is like? I can imagine what the odds will be now with Pettite on the mound.

1:05pm Central time start...

Yes it is on WGN.
thank you!
here's your scouting report from VIKING611....
O'Malley features a fastball in the upper 80s, tops out around 90-91. Has a real nice change up and an average curve ball. Expect him to be a little nervous as he grew up a Cubs fan and has been waiting for this day since he was a kid!

So you think he has a chance Viking or what give us the scoop.
I'm just going to enjoy watching him. Should fare well for 5 or 6 innings but there is always that "MLB debut" bug going against him...and as i said..he grew up a cubs fan and would expect him to be quite nervous in his first outing.

I guess the edge O'Malley would have is that the Astros probably know just about nothing about him and have probably never seen him live. Unless he's wild, might take them a few innings. Plus all hitters should be tired. However, both bullpens are taxed. Interested to see total. Sounds like a 5 innings UNDER, but maybe game OVER.

If he's wild, he's nervous. He is a control pitcher, throws a lot of strikes and doesn't walk many.

Another thing going against him is being flown in on such short notice for this start.
