Wow, all the speculation can end now........

By SUTIN WANNABOVORN, Associated Press Writer 1 minute ago

BANGKOK, Thailand - An American suspect arrested in Bangkok has admitted to killing 6-year-old JonBenet Ramsey, the head of Thailand immigration police said Thursday, a surprise breakthrough in a lurid, decade-old murder mystery that had cast a cloud of suspicion over her parents.

John Mark Karr, 41, admitted to the killing after he was arrested at his downtown Bangkok apartment Wednesday night, Lt. Gen. Suwat Tumrongsiskul told The Associated Press.

Suwat said Karr arrived in Bangkok on June 6 from Malaysia to look for a teaching job. It was not clear whether he got a teaching position, the police officer said.

Karr's visa has been revoked as an "undesirable person" given the accusations against him, and U.S. authorities were expected to take him to the United States in the next few days, Suwat said.

This won't end the speculation, actually now it only begins anew. Seems like a lot of folks think the confession is a lie.

Probably he's just looking to get attention

Hard to say. That's possible. But they seemed to have been talking to him for awhile and if that were the case they'd have been able to rule that out before going through all of this. We'll see.

Things don't seem to add up. They show everything but a Colorado connection. His wife SWEARS he was with her on that night.....in Atlanta I believe. Sure a long distance away from Boulder.

The media has been duped again by giving this freak his 15 minutes of fame. Time will tell that he had nothing to with it.

MSNBC article states:

“He said it was second-degree murder. He said it was unintentional,” Suwat said. He said Karr told Thai interrogators that he picked JonBenet up at her school and brought her to the family’s basement.

Uh, how many schools do you know are in session the day after Christmas?

Something is lost in that translation. Note that is relayed from a Thai interrogator. Clearly if he did it, he did it by breaking into their home in the middle of the night. Maybe those two pieces of info are not directly related. Maybe he picked her up at school some day. And then separately that night brought her to the basement.

We'll see. Obviously something is confused.

Now the news report says he says he drugged her. I recall reading the coroner's report that said nothing showed up on the toxicology. At least that's what I recall.

now that the DNA doesn't match, can he get charged with obstruction or something? (saying he did it but didn't)

I don't think he ever told police in the US he killed her?

I am not sure he can get obstruction in the US for saying something about a murder while he was in Thailand. Seems like a stretch.

That being said, I suspect he will be getting the max sentence on his child porn pending charges in CA.

Wait a second. If the lack of DNA match exonerates Karr, then why doesn't it also exonerate the Ramseys? Remember, this same DNA that has been found not to match Karr was also found not to match any of the Ramseys. It is from an as yet unidentified male (who is not necessarily the killer, though it might be). But I just don't get why the lack of a DNA match exonerates Karr, but the lack of a DNA match doesn't exonerate the Ramseys. Not sure I understand that.
