Anyone have a local that does football lines out of the paper?

Buddy of mine is trying to hook me up with his local who uses the weekend edition of the USA Today for his football lines. From the way I uderstand it the guy doen't even know how to turn on a computer. He has about 10 guys (older shop workers) that bet wiht him regularly for years.

Does anyone have a guy like this and if so do you just middle with him or hit his soft line and if you have done this in the past have you always been a consistent winner. I already have a guy who is slow to move (away from computer, family type) because he is gone in later afternoon.

This could be real fun

A friend of mine has a guy that does this. Juices the lines a little on local teams. problem is my friend doesn't know how to turn a computer on either.

I used to have a local that did this exact same thing, using the USAToday weekend edition. I would usually just follow line movements; i.e. if the Colts were -7 in the paper and they were -8.5 by kickoff, I hammered them at -7.

Years ago I had a BM that did. If this guy has a handful of sharp players they will carry him out in a body bag. With the line services and injury reports now days the poor SOB will be on welfare by Thanksgiving

I wouldn't waste time scalping, you'll be wasting the golden oppty of hitting those great lines, and you run the risk of the local coming up lame and not paying whilst your left with a negative balance in your other books.

Had one years ago that used the paper and was the best thing since sliced bread until he switched to a Vegas contact and lines were a lot sharper.

Exactly! All the locals we "had" are probably washing cars now

I don't know who you are betting with but I can tell you my locals OWN the car wash. The problem for every guy that is sharp enough to take advantage of this there are 10 that don't know a thing about how to exploit this or if they did still would dtruggle with the discipline needed to follow through on it.

mine is way smarter than that..

i do get (-1.10) on all totals....... this comes in handy at times..

Thats why many have early cutoff times - to avoid people playing late moves against his weak lines.

i had a guy years ago,he would give me the ncaa football lines at 11:00 am,he would never change them,i could call him a million times on saturday,even up till the hawaii game and he never changed the lines,i made a ton off the guy in my 2 years with him,he is now at the racetrack everday from noon until midnight,begging for money,food,and signing irs tickets,he lives in his car

Once I had a guy who took USA today lines and let you leave the picks on his answering machine. We used the honor system, there was no need to cheat him it was already too easy to win. One of my friends used the same guy.

This one saturday there was some college game being played in a foreign country that started at 6 am local time. Well my friend calls in his bets around 11am and places a bet on the losing team from the 6am game.
