Since a few of you were interested, heres the email I just sent to journey. This is just one persons issues with this site. As I know I will probably be bashed, that is not my intention. Instead, I am trying to make this place better.



Journeyman-

First I want to apologize for being negative. I have reached a point where I have just gotten sick and tired of all the goings on at therx website. I will say that none of my issues have to do with the moderators or any one poster in particular. I will also admit that I have not visited the rx much in the past few months, instead I decided to start posting and being an active member of a different forum. So my issues go back several months.

My feeling is that therx has become more of a high school playground than a gambling forum. To me, there was way too much "bashing" and "attention whoring" going on, instead of a way to gather valuable information on sports handicapping.

I have seen personal vendettas, where one poster will go into an other posters thread and just take it over. I have seen too many people bashing a poster because of a losing play. There are a handful of individuals that are looking for attention with their plays. Although there seem to be rules regarding bashing, it seems that those rules get interpreted differently depending on the poster.

Therx has become a rather large high school clique. It seems that if you have not gone to any of the "bashes" you are an outsider. I have never looked for or asked for any attention, but you will see that I have over 900 posts, yet I still feel like I am a newbie on that site. Maybe its because I am not from the midwest and don't think The Big 10 is the only college conference out there.

In closing, I would like to apologize for my recent post saying negative things about your site. I guess that I am just frustrated that such a good site can be taken down by some people that are way to comfortable hiding behind their computer.

Now that we know some of the "problems", what are the solutions? To be honest, Im not sure. You have tried to stop bashing, it hasnt worked. You have tried to move threads, only to cause more bashing, it seems to be a vicous circle.

I have always tried to treat posters with respect, unfortunately, most of the other posters in the site have no idea how to do that. I suppose that that may be my biggest problem, if you arent in the inner circle, you are a nobody. We have choices with what forums to be an active member of, lately my choice was to be part of a different forum.

Since this has been "off the cuff" I know its going in a lot of different directions, I apologize for that. Hopefully you many have gotten a few ideas about what has upset me. Feel free to contact me more on this issue.

TV, all those thing's are what makes the RX, The RX, give it a few more years, you'll understand.

I would only say that with a forum this large I believe it can be hard to keep the bashing and the attacks under control. I would say that the Mods do a pretty good job of that. This forum has more threads started daily than some Forums have in 2 or 3 days.

With a group of posters this large you will always have a few bad apples. It is that way in every walk of life. I use the forum for information and try to add information were I can.

By the way I am from the Midwest and I could care less about the Big 10

I think "impossible" might even be a better term.

You take the good with the bad on a forum this large. If you have maturity (which all of us lack at certain times), it is easy to just skip over the bashers and not let them get the attention they desire.

Just read the info you are looking for and contribute what you feel is helpful.

Posters give these bashers way to much credit and pay them way too much attention. If you just ignored their posts, they would go away.

With all due respect Clip, I am just too old for this. Why is it impossible?
Why not a 1 week suspension for any bashing? It does become difficult to read when a good percentage of threads have some sort of bashing.

I agree with the maturity comment. As I said, this sometimes feels like high school.

Tvwatchr, for one I do not understand why you came into my thread and basically implied that I am one of the people that is making this site going downhill.

While I understand some of my posts are sophomoric, I also contribute a great deal to capping multiple sports. I only poke fun at people who are known scammers or have tried to pull one over on other RX posters. Other than that I never make fun of someone's losing play. I enjoy a lot of the light hearted, fun posts on here. The RX is not only a great capping site, it is a site where guys can go and shoot the breeze. Life and gambling can be stressful and the RX is a place where we all kick back, drink a beer, talk sports, and just be men (and some occasional women). We do not have a bunch of uptight people here. So basically it is the best Online Sports Gambling site on the net, by far.

You have choices in what forums to enter. If you dont like the high school, bashing, type threads dont enter the Rubber Room or click on threads in the Offshore Forum that will not appeal to you. If you are just interested in capping you can go to any of the appropriate sports forums. There are plenty of discussions in there. The great majority of them are not malignant.

I for one have never gone to a bash but plan to in the future and definitely do not feel like an outsider. Even the Moderators acknowledge me at times. uppy:

I dont think this site has many, if any problems. Like I said before just in the shear numbers of posters here you will always have a few bad apples. The RX moderators and management, I feel, do a great job with controlling it.

I am an SEC fan and find plenty of crazy, drunk, rednecks on here to talk about SEC football. So while I do see Big Ten talk on here, I see plenty of other conferences and schools represented including Winkys Pac10.

So while your post is not completely off the wall like I thought it was going to be, I do not agree with you. There may be a few bad apples but overall this site is mainly about capping and having some fun. The majority of posts are good and people tend to get along.

You are either mature enough to ignore immature comments, or you allow yourself to get caught up in the immature behavior/let it affect you.

I try to acknowledge everyone I can, I always have...It doesn't even have to do with being a moderator, I am generally interested in what people think, do, where they're from, etc. that's just what my personal interests are.

the only reason I took it that way is because he came into a thread that I made, which I made joking around, and made a post saying that this site is going downhill. If he made his own thread saying that, I would have never taken it meaning me.

Anyway, I wasted 10 minutes of my precious life on this.
