what a hoot! my family and i had a great time, and saw a great game to boot. extra innings, a 1 run victory, and fireworks after the game. the entire experience was way different than the majors. i'll even admit that the 40 something fat fan wrestling with a huge furry duck was a riot. between each inning, a little silly entertainment. what a show.and for 10th row behind the plate--- 9 DOLLARS a ticket!

incidently, the long island ducks, in the atlantic league, have juan gonzales(2 time mvp, and AL home run champ), bill pulsipher, henry rodriguez, and bud harrelson as a coach.you realize that most of these guys prolly have no other skills and love baseball at any level. have any others experienced the minor league experience? wdyt?

I have gone to a couple of the Fresno Grizzlies game (SF Giants Triple A) when I have had friends playing on opposing teams that were in town. Great stadium and it is fun to watch some of the up and comers...or watch a rehab stint by the big league guys.

But I get pretty bored watching games that mean little to nothing to each team...the players are out there trying to get to the big leagues. The race for a championship seems meaningless to me because during the stretch run, your best players are removed from your team as they are called up when the rosters expand.

Cheap tickets though and a good atmosphere for families. :toast:
