Can you say, letdown game.

Yanks flying cross country with no day off while Sea had the day off to rest. Yanks played terribly against the Orioles before the Boston series as I am sure their focus was just not there, and I would be shocked if they don't relax a bit now with the comfortable lead.

Also Wright in his last start was just awful.

hope you are right as I already bet Seattle (big but will scalp out some) @ Betjam +126. Expect most to agree with your anaylsis.

Just keep in mind it is a round bat and a round ball. Don't get too carried away in any major league game.

VERY very true....we're talking about a team that is as hot as they've been all year vs. a team who has absolutely tanked.

OK then. Who exactly is Karstens? No line up right now, not sure how this will effect my pick.

By the way, Seattle being awful might work in my favor. This series is their WS for them. To the Yankees it means nothing.

I remember for several of the Yankees championship years, towards the end of the year, they would get crushed by TB. This seems like that type of series. Seattle might want to salvage some pride, while the Yanks might want to relax.

Right Angle, Wrong Game/Team IMO

I like the angle, a team having to fly x-country on one day rest after playing the biggest rivalry series of their season.

But you have the wrong game/team, IMO. The lock here is taking Anaheim over the slumping BoSox.

Boston's psyche has to be shattered, yeah Francione will give some rah-rah we can still win it/lets finish the season strong bullshit kind of speech, but in reality, everyone on that team knows there is now way they catch NYY now. They are done, stick a fork in them. Can you say "depression?"

The Angels, however, still think they are in the AL west, and it seems to come down to them and Oak in the last game of the season every year.

Ana has won 4 straight, bost has lost 5 straight. Ana is starting on of their top pitchers in Saunders vs a struggling Snyder and his 6.4 ERA.

Ana is cheap, i got them -140 at Pinny. Much better value than taking Seattle as a small dog, since Seattle is staring one of their most unpredictible gas cans in Meche. Also, as mentioned before, Seattle can't buy a win lately, and Yanks are obviously confident and surging.

disagree ppeter.

not being a homer, I think Anaheim is an OK play, but they are -142 and that isnt cool.

they arent 20 cents better than the dead sox after home field factored in.

play is a stinker hold your nose and play the dead sox at those odds or pass. as for the stinkies, you can play this fade the travel angle at +120 instead of -142.

and the stinkies are high on the hog right now. the red sox are a cornered beast, desperate for a win.

I dont trust the dead sox, but dont fade them at the peak of everyone and their mother thinking they are done.

Wow, yet another pitching change, this time for Seattle. I've never heard of either of these guys. Too bad, I really thought that was a golden opportunity.

I still think the Yanks will struggle tonight though, but I can't make a wager on someone I have no idea about.

If you played the pitching change, this was a very nice ticket to cash.

Took alot of balls to back Seattle...wish I would have followed.

Ppeter also posted a gem in this thread....what else is new.

He spends quite a bit of time at the window without being noticed.

Well I appreciate the fact you picked the dog in here. But Seattle was
very lucky to win.. Nonetheless maybe your theory had a little something
to do with them winning who knows.. Anyway I hate baseball..

I wish I could say I took Sea even after the pitching change, but unfortunately I didn't. While I really wanted to, I just couldn't take Baek because I never heard of him, and had no idea what to expect from him.

While nobody knows what would have happened, I think Meche would have done better than 3 runs in 5 innings, and Seattle would have won more comfortably.

Also Rivera being unavailable last night contributed to the victory.
