Today's Play is on the Pittsbirgh Pirates +145. Pittsburgh was completely dominated yesterday by John Smoltz so look for them to come out strong tonight playing like they have something to prove. The Pirates fare well offensively following games in which they have been shutout. With this being said the Braves are not really an offensive team, so this could be an advantage for the Pirates. The line is also very good and if the Pirates come through this could be a very profitable night. Look for this to be a tight game for the most part with the Pirates edging out the Braves to pull of a nice win.

Dives
Today's play is on the Colorado Rockies -150 vs the San Diego Padres. These two teams are clearly headed in different directions. The Padres have won 4 straight while the Rockies have lost 6 straight. Look for all this to change tonight. The main reason for The Padres recent succes has been pitching. Tonight the pitching advantage goes to the Rockies who are sending out J. Francis who has a steller ERA of 3.38. The Padres meanwhile send out M. Thompson who hasn't won since June 20th and been very inconsistent in the few games he has played. Two of which were against the Rockies where he lost surrendering 6 runs, 12 hits in 12 innings. Look for the Rockies to take control early and force Thompson out of the game.

They emailed it to me earlier as a comp game, I guess because I didn't buy last few days. Anyway, I posted TB earlier anyway so no loss here. Hopefully a W.

Today's MLB play is on the Tampa Bay Devil Rays +160. The theme for the weekend certainly seems to be the underdog, so clearly a nice winner on a big underdog today would fit in just fine. The Devil Rays try to avoid the sweep tonight without their ace on the mound. Kazmir, who was recently added to the DL, will not be making the start, however a fired up offence should cover the deal for the D-Rays. Loewen has struggled all year and expect him to falter under pressure today. It could be a higher scoring game than with Kazmir on the mound. Howell, his replacement should handle this one and pick up his first W of the year.

Today's play is on the Milwaukee Brewers +185. This game is exactly like The Kansas City vs Toronto Blue Jays game last week. A team on the road with a poor record playing a team with its ace on the mound. This game should be tight and not too high scoring just like last night's game was for the most part. However, the Milwaukee bullpen will not give up 7 runs in 1 inning this time. The Brewers have great value tonight and if it were not for one poor inning perhaps could have won the game last night as well. Houston seems to be getting way too much respect tonight for a team that ultimately is 4 games under .500. Brewer's pitcher Dave Bush has faced the Astros twice this season posting a 1-0 record and should be due for a good outing after a few poor performances. This game has a good upset potential and great value for the Brewers.
