They're from Oregon, and have Beaver in their name. That's worth two runs right there. If Oregon State can win the college world series, Beaverton can win the Little League World Series.

Told the kids exact same thing 3 weeks ago in SanBernadino. Also they are from same region {Northwest} as defending champs Ewa Beach, Hawaii last year.

I live in Portland, Beaverton is suburban sprawl at it's worst. You want some young rich kids to win? To top it off, that global sponsor of drug enhancing drug use, nike, is based there. We won't mention nike support of athletics is based on the sweat and exploitation of untold workers in third world countries

What? I'm guessing if you had the choice, you would erase California right off the map or at least give it back to Mexico.

I could care less if the team is filled with a bunch of priveledged bording school kids, or city kids from the PIL, I want another team from Oregon to win a world series.

cool, they gave OSU head baseball coach a big fat raise and kept him from jumping ship to Notre Dame...As long as the dough stays in Oregon

Is Carter allowed to pitch for Georgia or must he wait and hope they reach the Championship Game?

Upper middle is the make up for every successful little leauge team. Awatukee, Eva Beach last year, Conejo Valley year before. Its very rare when you get some home boys like 01' Oceanside.

This year teams upper middle. Lemont,Ill, Columbus,Ga Awatukee,Az, Beaverton.

We'll make up for it next year. What are your teams....Ducks, Beavs, Jailbreaks, Hawks, or just Beaverton little league? I think I'm coming up for the Beavers/SC game in October, going to do some fishing and drinking like the days of my youth....

Not allowed to pitch. Phillips against Fry is almost a certainty. Phillips slightly better IMO, due to better control, but Oregon slightly better accross the rest of the board. One key weakness Oregon has is a fairly weak catcher. That could loom large. Looking forward to watching this. Might have a very tiny play on Oregon. Not much value. I did play a couple times on Japan when the line first came out at -1 1/2. The line has since steamed up. Not sure there is much value any longer, but Japan should cover this number.

Could you elaborate on what you mean by this? Is this a social class thing you are talking about?

Where I grew up in Beaverton the first Nikes were made in a rented garage right down the street from my house.

I root hard for the Ducks, but will back Beavs too. Probably also Vikings now that my son is attending there this fall
