I usually try to go see 3 or 4 on Friday nights here during the season. I usually dont go back to my old high school for all the games, just try to find best matchup or some teams with a couple 4 or 5 star players.

I am looking forward to checking out a game night. Just curious.

I used to check out the games back in VA and we won the States in 2004 but moving here to MD the quality isnt the same. I may check some out going back home from time to time.

love to watch high school games. one of the nation's best teams each year lives about 30 miles away and it is well worth the trip once a year to watch a big game.

Chanoo, I go to quite a few Hudson and Ann Arbor Pioneer games. Hudson is complete smash-mouth football and AAP puts guys into D-1 ball every year.

Tonight Im going to Gibsonburg @ Ottawa Hills, Ohio

Anyone have a line for this game?

Girl I am seeing graduated a couple years back and is now the head cheerleading coach there, so I plan on going to a couple of games this year. They play a school this year that has one of the best players in the nation Noel Devine, so I will definitly be at that game.

I would take a high school game over the NFL any day. I go on a weekly basis, some great teams on So Cal.

And if the Road Warrior says it, it must be true..

Will cover probably about 25 games this year for the local newspaper, beginning tonight and ending with the state title games in early Dec. At least in Ohio, NOTHING tops the excitement of high school football. Truly an unbelievable passion and interest within the state. I cover every event imaginable from little league games (rarely) and DIII colleges to Ohio State and the Browns, Cavs and Indians.........In a heartbeat, I'll take a great high school rivalry as my top choice on any given weekend.

Incidentally....Had the pleasure??? to cover the Warren G Harding Raiders on a regular basis when Maurice Clarett was in high school. All I can say is WHAT A SHAME!!! I have seen my share of GREAT!! athletes over the years. Prior to 2001, if I were asked to name the best high school football player I've ever seen, I would have been hardpressed to narrow it down from a list of 5-10 athletes. I can now say with certainty that Clarett was, without a doubt, the best hs player I've ever watched.

Amazingly, his work ethic in high school was unreal. He lived in the weight room, and for the most part he was very coachable. But the other side of it was that he was all about him. You knew even back then he was all about personal success and nothing more.......again, what a shame.

High school football is huge here in Ohio. I went to Youngstown Chaney-Austintown Fitch last night. Huge crowd, excellent time, not going to get any better for $6. We are looking for another good one tonight, may go see St Ignatius blow up Boardman

I would recommend everyone watching this tomorrow. This game will have a load of Div 1 talent.

Glades Central faces Byrnes (SC) in nationally televised game on ESPN

For the second year in a row, ESPN has decided to spotlight Florida high school football. Five FHSAA member schools will be featured on ESPN and its networks, including Saturday's nationally televised game between USA Today's No. 5 Glades Central (Belle Glade) and No. 2 Byrnes (Duncan, SC), with a noon kickoff

Houston are keeps coming up short in 5A.
Too much Southlake Carroll, but this year Southlake won't finish number 1 in the Nation or state.

Nice. We considered going to that one but decided to go down to South Range and watch them play Mogadore - hit up Rockne's in Boardman on the way :103631605
