Definitely ask him about his lack of success in big bowl games.
Ask him if Major Harris wouldn't have gotten hurt on the second play of the game in the Fiesta Bowl (national championship) vs. Notre Dame if he thinks they would've won.
Ask him if he still keeps in touch with Rich Hollins and how he's doing. He was Hostetler's main target and a great wide receiver that was trying to make the team with Dallas after he graduated. He ended up getting shot in the head in Motown by a security guard whom Hollins' had a relationship with his wife. He incredibly survived, but naturally not the same.
Ask him what some of his greatest moments were. I'll betcha the thumping WVU gave PSU in Motown in 1988 will be one of them.
Ask him if he was aware during his tenure of the problems the football team had with the wrestling team. They consistantly got in fights in sunnyside on the weekends and the guys on the wrestling team were always beating the shit out of the football players, with the wrestlers sometimes being outweighed by 100 lbs. Most unbelievable incident, Thad Turner, 156 lb wrestler, whipped Jim Rogers, (outstanding lineman,6'4 285 lbs., held the benchpress record for WVU for many years) so bad that shortly before he lost consciousness from his head being bounced off the pavement beside Dr. Johns he finally submitted to Thad's request, and that was to say that Thad was the baddest m'fer on WVU campus(as the 10 or so football players watching let out a sigh of grief)....LOL!!
Ask him what he thinks about the stadium being named after Milan Puskar. "Mike" Puskar donated 20 million so they named the stadium after him.
Ask him what he thinks about this years team. They're ranked 5th in many polls and with their easy schedule, Louisville on the road should be their toughest game, should run the table.
Ask him about Chris Gray. He was an ex-quarterback who died in the twin towers on 9-11. Chris was in my group of buddies, and the funniest SOB you've ever met. Great guy who I'm sure the coach will have nothing but great things to say.
