I am not bitter, as I gave up on the Cub's season 3 months ago. But did anyone watch the Cubs/Cards game today? Bennett hits a walk-off single in the bottom of the 9th to give the Cardinals a 2-1 win. Great. But the bench clears and the Cards converge on home plate, jumping around like idiots.

I understand you are in a tight pennant race, but it's not even September and you just won a regular season game against the 2nd worst team in the National League. You don't need to hop around in a group hug like you just won the world series. Act like you've been there before. Christ.

Hate to say it, but I disagree with you Harry. Too often these guys treat playing baseball as a job(which is it, but still)...the game is supposed to be FUN. Players and the team as a whole still needs to feel joy in playing the game.

You can act like you've been there, but winning in walk-off fashion is still exciting and the players and coaches should be allowed to enjoy it like they're kids again.

I don't see a problem here. As stated earlier, all teams do it. Even moreso when in a tight race. Sounds like a frustrated Cubs fan to me.

i saw the end of the game and it just seemed identical to every team that ends the game with a walk-off?

this is common practice on a walk off win...even more so in a pennant race...too bad Cubs don't know what that is.

CARDS WIN:party:

Haha, I knew I would get slammed for starting this thread, but I did it anyway, LOL. Glutton for punishment I guess.

And no I'm not sour grapes, I am a Cubs fan but have completely given up on the season, I wish the Cardinals no ill will, and had nothing riding on the game.

How far do you think the Cards can go in the playoffs, assuming they make it?

Especially with the problems the Cards are having as of late...especially with the Cubs...I am sure they were excited about a win for more than one reason

Probably will not go far if they do make...but it is all about the opportunity of being able to make the post season and possibly make some noise.

c mon harry where's your sense of enthusiasm? I believe any team would celebrate in that fashion, it wouldn't matter who they were playing...

You sound like bitter Cubs fan playing your teams biggest rival, oh wait...

We did win the division 3 seasons ago. :103631605

And I'll save you trouble of responding with this question: How did that end up for us again? :nopityA:

It all could have been so different, Cubs very easily could have won in 84 and 03.
