I will be flying into Chicago before the PSU-ND game and I am going to try to catch my first Cubs game at Wrigley Field. They are playing the Pirates at 1:20 on 9/7. I need to start some planning so have a couple questions

1) Will tickets be available on street before game or should I go ebay? I would like to get bleacher seats.

2) What bars should I hit before and after game on Waveland?

3) I will have rental car and arrive in Chicago around 11 am. Should I drive to game or go to hotel and take train?

4) What hotel is close to Wrigley or close to a train station?

5) Any other suggestions for my first ever trip to Chicago (only staying 1 night)?

Thanks in advance!

depends on what time you're flying in
if you were getting in early, i'd say take the train downtown and see Milleinum Park, Buckingham Fountain, walk down the Magnificent Mile (Michigan Ave.), etc.

if getting in a little closer to gametime, shit you might as well just stick around Wrigleyville and drink. Might as well stay there afterwards too, Thursday night, should be lots of people out and about down there.

Cubby Bear is located right across the corner from Wrigley. I would NOT go there. I think it's incredibly overpriced when there are plenty of dives around that have cheap good beers and a good atmosphere.

There will be all sorts of tix available on the street. Don't pay more than face for them. I'll probably be at that game too.

All the bars in the area charge pretty close to stadium prices before the game. ($5/beer). Hi-Tops has very good scenery after the game. Always helps that DePaul is a couple of miles down the road.

Need more info, my email is in my profile.
