Sunday bases with 5 unit play

4-2 +111 yesterday. Had the making of a great day but lost the last 2 including the big one. Got another 5 unit play for today but be warned, I have lost 2 of these in a row. Still made money yesterday and that is the bottom line. Short card in quantity but big on quality

san diego -118 (5 units)

san fran -134 (3 units)

angels -108 (2 units)

the SD line opened @ -104. So a lot of the value is gone...but hopefully you dont have to worry about that by it cashing.

i actually had this line being (in the MLB 'Guess the Line' Challenge I host in this forum, which is welcome to EVERYONE):

SD: J. Peavy -123
COL: A. Cook +115

I dont know why i didnt lay anything on the -104 when it opened, oh well.

Looking at the lineup card, both of the lineups look very very weak. Cook had a rough start his last outing against Arizona, but overall he is very solid. Peavy always has the potential of being lights out.


What I'm trying to say is the under 9 looks like a very solid play. Anyone agree with what im thinkin here?

Funny you added this because I was thinking along the same line. I think adding a couple of units on the under will "protect" me a bit. My thinking is that the only way I lose this one is if Cook pitches a gem and wins a 2-1 type of game. Peavy has been great the last month or so. Cook has not been so good (hence the play). He hasnt pitched all that bad but the Rockies have only won 3 times in his last 15 outings. San Diego is sniffing the division and Peavy has seemed to step up his game in the effort. I really like this game and see a 5-0 type of game.

Not a bad idea either. Might join you on that one and I bet parlays about 5 times a year.

If SD is going to win, it is way more likely in my opinion that it will be a low scoring contest. I mean look at the lineup card, Russell Branyan now a Padre as he is good for 3 K's a game, and the ancient Manny Alexander at SS who has to be like 36 years old or something (and he's no Julio Franco). Colorado has Kaz Matsui leading off. 'Nuff said.


Im looking hard into parlaying the two as well.

according to mlb.com, Cook is in the top 5 of NL pitchers for most hits allowed, which bodes well for the side. I wouldn't take a chance on the total, just my opinion
