A team many wondered why they kept Cabrera and Willis after unlaoding everyone else is right back in the WC hunt and probably one of the best teams in the NL at this point....

Marlins Are Two Back In Loss Column!

52-31 last 83 games

Handful of posters suffering with Marlin team total under wins future.

Girardi at odds with management.

Girardi solid manager.

Nice effort, but to no avail.

Weird club.

Marlin farms a hotbed for talent since inception.

We like the Marlins and hope they do well.

Wayne really ruined this organization.

What were their future odds early on ?

It was ridiculous. I believe they were down there with the bottom 4 teams in baseball with unreal odds.

Under 63 wins maybe...not sure

Around there though.

Club continues to get it done year in and out with what looks like triple -a caliber roster to start the season.

No one gives them credit. Here comes another wildcard clincher with less money then your teams with big stars.

2003 had 3 times as much, but still a bunch of unproven players.

This is amazing what Joe Giradi has done.

To take a team from 20 under to 3 under in the same season is wonderful.

These players haven't given up, but it's still a long stretch to the finish.

Fan support or not these players want to win.

I love how most of you guys who are fans of bigger teams and bigger markets don't acknowledge us like we are in a group of non winners.

Two world series in less than ten years isn't bad I would say.

Would be a sin if they move this club out Yandek.

:smoking:

I really hope they move them. Florida does not deserve a baseball team. The fan support is pathetic. Tampa Bay should move as well.

They are 3 back and rolling. Road trip this week will tell if they can stay in.
This team is scary loaded with young talent. They could do some serious damage.

Yeah, thats true as they do have shit fan support in FLA.

Some residents appreciate it though. Not enough obviously.

Don't see Vegas being a contender in this one though.

It will never win, because it would be too good to be true, and life doesn't work like that, but I after the Marlins went on a 9 game winning streak to pull within 6 games a couple of months ago, I got them from 500 to 1 up to 850 to 1 for the series, and from 150 to 1 to 500 to 1 for the pennant. A couple of the places I bet them at will even pay me, I'm pretty sure. It's a nice dream anyways...lol. After they started 12-32, they've put up one of the best records in baseball. Who knows, maybe they can keep it up. All the other NL wildcard team are playing like shit. If the Marlins can take 20 or 21 of their remaining games, they'll have a real shot.

2003 was sweet ! 150-1

I remember getting them at 50-1 when they were in this same position. I didn't shop for the best price as I am sure there was much better available at the time. They were in this same position when I made the bet...back a few games but they had a great young pitching staff.

I bet them maybe 1/3 of the way into the season in 2003, mostly at Canbet.

It has been a nice effort for such a young team, but lets not overestimate things here. They have 4 teams to jump over and still hold off 5 other teams within a couple games of them. Ten team race says a lot about why lesser teams can be in this spot, lots of mediocre teams taking turns beating up on each other.

Other than the NYM the Marlins ARE the NL second best team ,this is a half a season we're talking about ...not just a nice effort from another medicocre team...They just took a little time to get...that is a 100 win season pace they have been on now for half a MLB season.

i did the same thing ANTI...at wwts a few months ago when they went on their 1st big winning streak of the season....they were asleep at the wheel and had them at 2000-1 to win the WS and 750-1 to win the pennant (i actually posted it across the street)....the next day they dropped the odds to like 100-1 and 50-1...

its not big money or anything i got $6 to win the WS and $6 to win the pennant...the $12 i invested would get me back 17K if they ever ran the table....loler

ive had the believe all season if they can just get to .500 they will have a shot b/c the NL is so weak...their sept schedule is brutal however...

we will see how it plays out...i care more about the tigers right now than i do the marlins...
