Been battling with some of this the past few days, taking a look at the NCAA U/O lines and wanting to hit the under on some teams that have superior talent running the ball but have yet to prove themselves through the air.

I.E. I'm not sold on BC's pass game and am taking a serious look at the under, throw in the new rules changes that run more time off the clock. But as Minnesota has proven year in and year out, a GREAT running game can get you 35-50 points game in and game out.

Just like the idea of that clock running...

What do you all think? Do you take into consideration how much a team runs the ball when looking at the O/U?

Depends on the situation. If two theoretical games have a total of 47 and they are Penn St versus both Rice and Boise St, I'd leave toward the under versus Boise and the over versus Rice.

Penn St would likely score 47 against Rice last year if they met up. However, Boise has enough run D to slow down Penn and keep it under.

Running generally helps the under but not if the team can run wild and put put up 40+ points by themselves.

The problem with this theory in college ball is the clock stops after first downs.
