This is not a misprint: Overall Dogs have lost 53 units since August 19. That is the most dogs have lost in any 2 week period in since 2001.

Ouch! To put that in perspective, the worst year we have seen for underdogs was in 2002, when overall dogs lost 102 units. But that was over an entire season.

Now, imagine losing 55 units in just the past 12 days. Definately an historic losing streak for underdogs. Had you played all underdogs the past 12 days at $100 per play, you would have lost $5,500.
National League dogs are on the worst run that we have seen in our 5 years.

Wednesday night, It was another day of serious pounding for NL dogs, as overall NL Dogs went 1-7. NL Dogs have been roughed up by the favorites every day since August 19th.

How bad has it been for overall NL Dogs? They are still winning just 16% of the time since August 19th. That is well below the norm.

--------

No team since 1900 has reached .500 after falling 20 games below. The Florida Marlins have an excellent chance to be the 1st to do that.

Home dogs are almost break-even since 8/19

doesnt dogs historcally have a tough time around this time of year?

I'm not sure about historically. Last season the dogs did very well in September. In 2004 they were a small loser.

You're talking about 12 days of baseball. Insignificant.

I don't think he's trying to point out any significance, just pointing out what an incredible run it's been for favs lately.

I pretty much play only dogs, so I've been hurting.

Actually, what I'd be interested in is how do favs/dogs do at this time of year every year. I keep reading and hearing about how this is a good time for favs, which it seems to be. Does this really hold up to analysis?

Anybody have any numbers?
