Capper or Poker player.

Granted sports betting might take a larger bankroll, what is your opinion and why ?

Both tough professions.

Being a combo of both is the best route to take grinding away at both ..........or be exceptionally great at one.

Believe it or not, a few professionals in both professions are broke many times in their career.

This is obviously not the avenue to take for most professionals in this arena, but they are doing what they love to do and always find a way to get on top.

Some of the greatest gamblers that ever lived went from rags to riches and riches to rags many times in their line of work.

I think every professional gambler, especially sports gamblers, have a gone broke at least once or twice. I don't think you've been around the block yet until you get humbled a few times. There's a lot more to learn from going through a bowel-shaking bad streak than there is from over-winning. Almost every top sports gambler has gone through going broke at least once.

BOTH super tuff.

Sports player in todays market easier IMHO. Sports is ALL about "information" good information that is. Bad beats in Both!
Both require huge bankroll as nothing is good ALL the time. Must be able to withstand streaks, both ways. Some people Cant play a winning streak to save thier life. They might win 7-10 in a row and still grinding away with a 1* bet.

Anybody who thinks sports is easier obviously hasn't played poker seriously. 50-100k a year is as simple as 8+ tabling low limit poker for 3-4 hours a day.

Some people Cant play a winning streak to save thier life. They might win 7-10 in a row and still grinding away with a 1* bet

As opposed to betting 2 and 3 star plays? Do you also bet less during a losing streak? Why just not bet? Why bother betting when you aren't 'hot'? If you're 'hot', why stop at sportsbetting? Why not just go to your local casino and have a hoot, rack up a fortune? Buy a few lotto tickets? Not enough bankroll? Borrow some money from the mob, it's okay you'll be able to pay it back because you're 'hot'.

Both require huge bankroll

You can make 6 figures in poker off a 4 figure bankroll.

the nice thing about sports betting is the time requirement. You dont have to cap all the games...playing poker takes a huge amount of time!

For poker this really isnt true any more. There is no reasona pro poker player should ever be broke. Sue you have idiots like Matasow that cant keep his money, but with online poker and softer games you should never be broke anymore .

Definitely sports. For that, some simple math skills is basically all that is required.

For 3-4 hours a day, one can easily make more than the amount you are giving for poker. Sports is without a doubt easier and you don't really need to know much about sports.

I'm an awful poker player....

But I do attempt to make my living from sports wagering. Some call this gambling, but I insist it is wagering.

To me Poker would be much harder than this. I don't know anything about poker or cards outside of blackjack, but that is my belief...and it is a strong one.

I just know that I would expect less random shit would happen to me in a sports event than in a card game. What I am saying is that I believe less random shit happens in a sporting game than in a card game.

Good luck. I respect highly good poker players. You guys are better and bigger and stronger than me.

Sure but most won't. Your average person is much more likely to succeed in poker than in sportsbetting. There's just much more information freely available and most people need someone to hold their hand or point them in the right direction.

The smartest professional sports bettors are on the other side...they are bookmakers. They are betting with + money on every ATS bet.
