Is this profitable every year and does it work in college football?

For those that don't know what I am talking about.

It is:

Detroit +2.5 (now +8.5)
and
Philadelphia -7.5 (now 1.5)

would be an example. You picked up(crossed over) the 3 and 7 on both bets.

Yes, I basically play them blindly in the NFL, unless I really don't like the team in question and am heavy on the other side... (I prob eliminate maybe 1 out of every 20 games)

They are absolutely not profitable in college football. Points are not worth enough in college. You should never place a college teaser bet.

There are no profitable pleasers. They come close at upper leave college spreads like +41, but still are not profitable.

The best question is why people don't blindly play CFB 1st half unders... 58-59% during the 1st month of each season over 1500 games...
Very true to form this year. I will be on all with the rule changes except TX (I think that one goes over...)

It is not profitable every year just as a 54% capper can lose sometimes... It is profitable about 70-80% of years.

Assuming you have +100 you need to win 70.7% of the games to break even.

If I recall, in the NFL, ones that cross bothe 3 and 7 win something like 72 or 73% of the time..

This equivalates (Is that a word) to about 52.5% but against a +100 line... It is basically break even (I can't recall if it is like .1 up or down) on a -110 line.

I thought 7 pointers crossing both 3s would be profitable, but they are not.

In college, it is a horrible bet. I would estimate 47% at +100, but I have not run the numbers in a long time as I am certain there are no college teasers to play.

I am tired of "You don't tease college football". That is a bunch of fucking bullshit. I teased Notre Dame and parlayed the ML on them. I liked them to win but would not lay points. Just pick the winner.

Ok, let me rephrase - if you don't like making bets that offer below even return, don't tease college games over a long period of time.

If you like making -EV bets an sometimes winning them, go right ahead. I prefer books are highly profitable.

Had to laugh at this contradiciton..

It's fine if you're doing it for entertainment. Just don't expect to come out ahead in the long term.

NFL is consistently better to tease, but that doesn't mean there can't be a college tease. Some books offer special odds on college teasers to attract action, making them attractive with certain numbers in certain games. Not nearly as often as NFL, but with a large board full to choose from and with special odds offered, it is possible to get +EV teasing college foots. Not as good this early in the season though. Lines get better some later. IMO

agreed...

i tease the nfl with great success...

with college you have to be very careful...pick and choose wisely, and then sometimes you will still get blown up

There was no contradiction in my post. Maybe $100-200 on a pick is considered entertainment but I pick a couple of games for the week and ride them.
