Horrible.

The worst will be at the end of games where a defense tries to get a stop and you have 3 timeouts. Right when the other team gets the ball you have to use a timeout. So they have 3 downs for your 2 timeouts. It changes the entire game.

Then there are the obvious spots throughout the game...just a terrible rule change.

I wouldn't mind it AS MUCH if it were up until the last 5:00 minutes of the half and game though.

I feel like the end of halves now are way too fast, with the lack of big time arms in the college game this really takes away from late in the half moving the ball quickly...this is a horrible rule change that I cannot believe took place....a very drastic change, that has changed the game significantly, why would they do this, who cares if the games are over 3 hours, I don't know anyone who cares ....I am very disappointed

If they are going to do this, they need to 1)have a 2 min warning or 2)make this NOT applicable within the last 2 mins of a game or half...

If a team is down 2 or 3 with like 20 secs to go, they almost have no chance now..

And so it goes......

I can't imagine who would even propose and vote on something like this....

it's horrible. And that it even got past makes you really question the kind of people in charge.

I hope that it won't last until next year. Someone needs to step in and fix this.

Just thought about this a second......lets say for example Notre Dame tonight gets a first down with 24 seconds remaining in the 3rd quarter they dont run a play. Soo when they return from the commercial break and spot the ball for play the could conceivably run another 24 seconds off the clock before they snap it? Am I correct on this or am I just not wanting to believe that it actually could happen. What were these jokers thinking when they implemented these changes.....obviously they werent or perhaps they may have been intoxicated. Yuck! I hate these new timing abnormalties. I guess the only thing that we the People can possibly do about this is to call in to the call in shows on ESPN Radio and bitch and bitch.....I ve said enough.

It gives the underdog an edge it never had before. You should see more big dogs covering this year. It could affect the totals also as less plays will be made.

.

Don't know about the afternoon/nite games but ESPN said the early games avg 15-20 less plays per game. Seems like alot.
It sucks. But then maybe it's just us gamblers who don't like it. We'll have to adjust and learn how to take advantage.

It makes me want to puke. The opening kick(clock starts) goes in the end zone, clock starts when ball is spotted and there is 14:30 left before the first actual play.

Love the college game, why mess with it????

exactly.....It's really a horrible......why tinker with a good product. And college football is just that.

The NCAA legislative body that passed this are morons...I can't believe the coaches and AD's didn't put up a fight to stop this from going through. I don't even know if they have any say in it, but there should have been opposition somewhere.

sure makes me lose interest in betting over totals and probably won't bet any totals except unders only here and there if even that.

maybe that is a good thing though. blessing in disguise. lol

this change may not be so bad after all.

As usual, leaders of an extremely popular and successful product, decide to "make it better". As usual, these leaders do not consult with the people who participate in, or use the product the most. As usual, the leaders mess it up beyond comprehension.
