I remember back in the mid 80's ('85 or '86) there was this lengthy hostage standoff involving a hijacked plane and all the major networks interrupted regular programming. It was a Saturday and that meant several college games wouldn't be shown. The standoff finally ended peacefully in the early evening. I'll never forget what Beano Cook said on ESPN -> "I'm happy it's over and all those people are safe, but I'm ready for a football game!"

He is a terrible terrible capper. he actually capped fror ESPN and they had to stop it. He was that bad.

He's great to listen to. He loves the traditions of college football. He pointed out last week that this was the 75th(I think that's what it is) anniversary of the dotting of the "I" for Ohio St. You have to love it.
