In the efforts to speed up college football...the clock re-starts immediately after a penalty accessment...(as noticed in tonight's Tcu/Baylor team)...

Well if you're leading in a close game under 3 mins....trying to run out the clock....why not commit penalty's on purpose...you can easily kill 25/35 seconds extra...every penalty...as well as the actual play time

And sooner or later it will be done on a national stage in a big game!

A travesty for the team behind...

Yuck! I was thinking the other day how a team could do something like that to end the game. It would cause a uproar for sure.

I am not certain but I hope to hell they have some rule that prevents this...if not they will...new clock rules are the worst thing CF has ever done.

if you are leading in the fourth period and allow 25 second clock to run out, it is a 5 yard penalty and clock starts on the snap.

all the same...any penalty by a team that is leading is an "unfair game clock tactic"...i have the full rule book somewhere on my computer....i'll see if i can find official wordings.

Unfair Game-Clock Tactics
ARTICLE 3. The referee shall order the game clock started or stopped
whenever either team conserves or consumes playing time by tactics
obviously unfair. This includes starting the clock on the snap if the foul is by
the team ahead in the score. The clock will start on the ready-for-play signal
after an illegal forward or backward pass that conserves time for Team A
(A.R. 3-4-3-I-IV).

Leaves it up to Ref's decision...LMAO...

PLEASE....an what about holding calls, offsides, illegal substitution,...?

You don't think a big ten official at the big house is gonna say....Lloyd...you're being unfair to...Charlie (ND) here...gonna have to stop the clock on ya!

Not that have to worry about that happenning in that specific game...but you get my drift!

Besides...when's he gonna make that call...after 2nd or 3rd penalty...by then the damage has been done....
