3-2 (-3.26 units) yesterday
149-119 (+47.67 units) overall

My first losing night since I said I was going to hang it up if I lost back to back nights. Pressure is on now, I have to win or I am done. I am going to stick to my word and stop if I lose tonight. Not because I am doing poorly, but I want to concentrate on just football. But if I win, I will also stick with my word and continue playing and posting my picks.

houston -106 vs phillies (3 units).............Do you know how long it has been since the phillies have beat the atros? The last time the Phillies beat the Astros, it was May 18, 2003. Clemens was a 40-year-old Yankee. The then-19-year-old Hamels was tearing up the South Atlantic League, going 6-1 with a 0.84 ERA for Class A Lakewood. Since then, it's been 12 straight losses -- no wins in six games in each of the last two seasons, including 2005, when the Phillies only needed to beat the Astros once to make their first postseason since 1993. It is hard to believe that this is the first time this season they are facing each other. As much as I love Cole Hamels, I have to go with Roger Clemens in this one. I hate going against my phillies again but houston seems to own the phils. It is hard enough for them to win going against any pitcher, but throw in the fact they now have Mr Clemens and it does not look good at all.

San Diego -156 vs Colorado (3 units)..............Not much of an explanation here, I am just riding a team that is feeling good about themselves right now. They are leading the wildcard and are at home. It appears they have the pitching advantage as well in tonights game. Odds a little high for me in this one, but I will chance it.

Angels -176 vs Baltimore (2 units)...........Weaver has come back to earth and has lost a couple for the angels, but he is still an amazing story. The kid can pitch and I am not going to give up on him and say it was beginners luck. A high price to pay for this one, but it should be a winner. Baltimore has played better recently, but they are still a poor road team.

San Fran +119 vs Cincinnati (2 units)...........Two teams right there in the thick of the wildcard race. It is also two teams headed in the opposite direction. I think the reds have the pitching advantage today, but the giants and even mr bonds are playing better right now. Making the giants the dog in what made up my mind in this one. Certainly worth a shot here.

With my two one unit plays, I am just taking a couple of long shots. This time of year some really lousy teams sneak in a few wins. It is crazy, but we seam to have more big dogs coming in right now than we did all season. Even Kansas City and Tampa Bay have won a few on the road.

Both one unit plays

Kansas City +189 vs Yankees.............KC has been competitive at home lately.

Pittsburgh +181 vs Cubs............Just because we are talking about the cubs.

I only need one of these to win to make a profit. I can easily see that happening. The last time I played two dogs like this for the same reasoning, they both won. I don't know if I will get that lucky, but you never know.

Good Luck Everybody!! Don't know if this is my last basebal post or not. We will see.
