Ryan Howard....Why is he so old?

This guy can mash, why did it take him so long to get to the bigs?

He is older than Sir Albert and people kepp calling him young. He will be 27 at the beginning of his 3rd mlb season.

He was only in minors 3+ years. SWMissouriSt known for heavy steroid use in the late 90s...possible he was one of them at the time.

Another HUGE reason. It's amazing how he's learned to do this. When he first came up he was brutal against lefties. Has obviously become much more patient at the plate and realizes that today's pitchers will make enough mistakes for him to capitalize off of, be them lefty or righty.

NO WAY that RyHow is currently on roids. They've shown him with his shirt off in the Phil's lockerroom on the news before. The guy is big...but he isn't jacked like a beast like most on roids are.

As stated above, #1 - Thome, #2 - his propensity to K against LHP, and #3 - he played in college for all 4 years is what held him back from getting to the majors sooner.

Also, Papi didn't start killin it till he was around this age as well.

Don't put words in my mouth...I didn't say he is now...5 or 6 on his team were on roids then so there is definitely a possibility he was at that time. I would say he wasn't at that time but there is no way of knowing for sure...as is the case with most people during this time period.

I didn't mean to insinuate that you said he's on roids now. Sorry if it came across that way. But i'm 90% sure he isn't on roids now. The guy is big...but he isn't huge and sculped like most people on roids are.

I have no proof either way. Just my opinion. But as a life long Philly fan I also don't want to believe that the greatest Phillies hitter in my lifetime is a juicer.
