Only 2 people have dominated their sports and they never choke......Woods and Jordan....No one who ever lived on this planet, could even think they are in the class with these guys.

There's plenty of arguments for others that have dominated their respective sports - but Woods is in a class of his own - including Nicklaus, who dominated when there were maybe a dozen world class golfers in the world.

I might get tired of seeing non-stop coverage of Woods, but damn is he in a league of his own.

and their is more than that now ??

you got guys ranked in the top ten in the world with less than 5 career victorys .

i think their is only 1 guy who could stand up to woods week in and week out . and thats jim furyk .

i think people over rate players these days based on their earnings . a couple of top 20's and 12 other made cuts and some hack can make a million bucks now .

Gretzky "SAT" for the gold medal shootout aginst Cheq Republic......Best ever, does not sit for the Gold....His supporting cast in Edmonton, was the "best" supporting cast ever....Coffey, Messier, Tik, my Lord there are 5 others. He did nothing nowhere else .....Messier a cup with Rangers, Coffey with Red Wings, the list goes on.. Give it, he was a great player, but nothing what Tiger is to Golf as Jordan is to basketball.

i am a big fan of jack, but tiger is just ridiculous, anyone who doesn't think he is the best ever is probably a relative of nicklaus, he is going to shatter jack's major record... if they played heads up in their prime, i think tiger would win 7 or 8 out of 10 matches... jmo

Byron Nelson won 11 straight tournaments in 1945 and 18 that year. I'd say he deserves some consideration.

Top 15 or 20? Put down the pipe. How about 113 straight top 20 finishes (what used to be defined as making the cut, as opposed to today where making the paycheck round qualifies. BTW, Tiger has 142 "cuts" made using the new standard but his record is 21 consecutive top 20's.

Great year my ass. This is a golfer who retired early and missed some major time because of the war.

Tiger may very well go down as the greatest ever - but you stating Nelson as "Top 15 or 20" shows how little history you know.

How about Eddie Merckx? Cyclist from Belgium. We all love Armstrong - but check out how this guy dominated over his career.

Eddy won the Tour de France 5 times, and was leading his sixth when a fan attacked him He was injured, and it dropped him out of contention. Besides the five Tours de France (1969, 1970, 1971, 1972, 1974... winner of 35 individual stages over the period), he won:

Five Tours of Italy (1968, 1970, 1972, 1973, 1974)
One Tour of Spain (1973);
Two Tours of Belgium (1970, 1971)
One Tour of Switzerland (1974)

He won three world road championships (1967, 1971, 1974), 32 major classics, and numerous other races for a career victory total of 525. To put that into modern perspective, Lance Armstrong has won 75 professional races.

I just can't get over the fact that Stevie's made over a half million dollars carrying the bag for the past 2 months or so.
