Guys....I've been having trouble. Is this a hard time of year to pick the winners? Is it just me? I have really been in a funk lately and

IT'S AFFECTING MY LIFE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

If I remember correctly, I always hated this time of year for finding baseball winners.

Why is it harder? If it is.

Tell me what you know. I want help. Help me understand. Please. Just tell me what is different now than, say, on July 6th?

I am at my wit's end.

this is my fifth year tulsa and it just seems like the worst part is all the capping and research doesnt always pay off, today was a perfect example

,it would seem like houston on the mound with clemens would be a winner and they fall to the phillies,

when has zambrano with the cubs been shelled like that and taken out of a game that soon,

the cards off a great hitting performance lose to the nationals,

the dodgers playing great ball and in a need to win game against a slumping brewers lose,

the As have been tearing it up and have an ace like zito who was approaching a milestone gets shelled once again by a slumping rangers

the white sox with garland on the mound lose again,

some people who won today will say they saw it coming but trying to cap these games intelligently going on recent performance,pitching,etc.. doesnt always pay off.

I have found the best solution I have found is to fade myself and cover all my bets. I always place a wager on the team I dont like sometimes in a parlay or by itself,it cuts down on the winnings but it sure saved me from a miserable day.its all math really and percentages.

People say go with your best instincts,I say listen to yourself ,find out who you really love to win today and wager on the opposite team.it has worked for me ,I am not a good capper and I didn't listen to people who told me how good I am and it saved me oodles of noodles today.

its like the saying goes why would I join any group who would have me as a member.

just fade and cover ,fade and cover

tulsa,
some great tennis matches tonight, alot easier way to make some money if you are willing to lay some juice. henin-hardenne,sharapova and well, federer if you got 7,000 to win 1,000 :smoking: they all look like easy winners .,plus you get to watch a hottie like sharapova instead of watching some pitcher scratching his nuts.
sharapova is a wed. match

7000 to win 100? Wow. I'd rather watch a pitcher itch his nuts, I think....maybe not.

Richdude.... I've tried that a few years ago....I started winning and so I was losing again. That is how I knew the problems were in my head and not with the MLB or NFL.

Good luck.

I agree, these games are really tough right now. Maybe just too much to look at with pro and college FB going. What ever, it is killing me also. Them Marlins sucked tonight. Whats new!!!!!!!

Tulsa,This season long baseball stuff is getting so tough that I'm thinking of a whole new strategy next year. I do so well with the season win totals that I'm going to just do those heavily and leave the day by day stuff alone as last couple of years have been going down hill with those.
Just make my season picks and let the 162 game schedule run its course.
The evidence that they are better bets(for me) is undeniable. If I continue to pick individual games it is only because I am addicted to action which I don't want to admit. Anybody else have this experience lately?

Its September guys, which means guys that have been in the minors all season have been called up when the rosters expanded on September 1 and some of these guys are playing for their futures. The teams in the playoff hunt are playing some teams with nothing to play for but pride and the looser teams are playing better with these young guys in there getting a chance.

The best advice I would give is to stay off of the huge favorites (-170 and above)...they just havent been coming in at all. Again, some of these teams (Mets, Tigers, A's) who have had leads for most of the season or a big enough lead entering September may have let down a little getting ready for the playoffs.

Stay away from games like the Cubs vs. Pirates and the Jays vs. Indians...you might as well flip a coin at the point in the season.

Thanks presto I know the feeling.tulsa and guys I tell you ,my friend at stanford has asystem and he is the only one with any cash for trips or dinner on the weekends,I can barely afford beer money or oodles of noodles. He told me to spread it out over other sports, like tennis and soccer and even cricket.I hate the ties in soccer but the tennis today with henin-hardenne was so much more gratifying to watch.

Basically his theory is these sports dont have as much action so the lines are softer and the players are so much more dominant in some of these sports.the tennis matches today with davenport and anyone federer plays obviously but in cricket and even soccer, alot of womens sports as well. The lines were absurd on tennis today, but I did some parlays and won some money.

Not only that, watching these ladies play was great, not only the aesthetic part but the passion. Henin-Hardenne yelling OLE after a point.great stuff.
